He might have been annoying for some/many people, but he should not have been banned. If something someone posts is stupid, people who read the post will judge it for themselves. Ban should only be used in extreme cases of flaming, relentless provoking etc. Many of Philippe's posts were stupid but they didnot warrant a ban.
dotovic feels for phillipe le bon and hopes he will be back as soon as possible
Don't know the reason for Phillipe's ban. He is obviously trying to be funny and he sometimes even is in a weird sort of way. The one thing I don't understand is this:
Why do so many people respond in his "stupid" posts? People actually did respond to all his "stupid" polls (look at the number of people who responded in each one).
The easiest way to kill a topic is to stop responding in it.
Ive read all of his posts in those two threads you mentioned. None of them were flaming. Sure, its quite negative to bring up topics like "most overrated expert", but thats not what you call flaming. The only problem is the amount of stupidity in his posts. This however should not be dealt with a ban. As I wrote earlier, people can judge what posts are worth replying to and what kind of a person he is (from his posts). The fact is many people dont like him trying to get a lot of attention.. but this is where people should learn to ignore posts that lack a minimum level of intellect.. or give a reply without flaming. He might have been annoying for some/many people, but he should not have been banned. Agree to your idea in general but while most of his posts were stupid, a lot of his posts were flaming. You can go to list of his posts and see for yourself. I will highlight two recent examples here ..
- Most overrated player. This was just pure flaming nothing else. Link: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=104966
- The thread about Tyrant already knowing the settings before WIC settings came out. This thread came after twice in different threads Viper clarified that they don't know it. Link: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=104082
Stupidity is tolerable but not too much of it. He was flooding the forum with his bullshit. Anytime you click on "View new posts", out of 10 new, 6 would be from him and all bullshit. He was banned for right reasons and it should remain that way.
...and 2253 posts
Philippe le bon has finally been banned.
This day will be forever celebrated and remembered throughout the ages and upcoming AoC tournaments.
15.4.2014/4.15.2014
Is there no moderation announcements subforum on AoCZone? Where only mods can post and state when/why/for how long a user is banned? :s
Something like this, I mean
Finally... That guy is exceptionally annoying, he should have been banned much earlier.

the easiest way to kill a spam/flame topic is to ban the spammer/flamer.
