A BIG (NOMAD) Update

Hi everyone,

So firstly, I want to thank everyone for all of the interest with the tournament! We had 20 teams sign up, and have already over doubled the initial prizepool - now at $900. I'm glad that people are as hyped about this event as I am, and I want to do whatever I can to get as many people involved as possible.

BIG LEAGUE:
With that said, as some of you have doubtless already heard - we will be adding an additional league to OBNC. The BIG LEAGUE (or main event), will feature the 6 top seeded teams, as well as the two winning teams from the BL qualifiers. Teams in the BIG LEAGUE will have all of their matches streamed, and will compete for the $900 prizepool. Since this is the main league of the tournament, pretty much everything else is the same as when announced. The only other change will be the timetable, which will be detailed below.

TINY LEAGUE:
One of the most exciting changes we have been able to make is the addition of a secondary league - the TINY LEAGUE! This league will be very similar in structure to BIG LEAGUE, and will run simultaneously to it. Naturally, the TL will feature the teams that did not make the cut for the BL. More specifically: the losers of the BL qualifiers will enter the TL as seeds #1 and #2 (based on their initial seeding), seeds #11 through #14 will simply join the league as the next four teams, and the last two teams will be determined via an additional qualifier. Unfortunately I cannot guarantee all matches will be streamed live, but the event will feature live open streaming. There is an exception for the semifinals and grand finals, which will be guaranteed to be cast live. There will be prizes for this league as well, TBA.

New Admins:
To help accommodate our doubling of overall teams and games, @TriRem and @Chrazini have kindly offered up their immortal souls to become admins for OBNC as well. All admins (myself included) will be helping out with both BIG LEAGUE and TINY LEAGUE based on who is available.

The map pack for the maps is now available as a mod in the DE Mod Center. You can find the mod at the link here, or you can just search "obnc maps" in DE.

Notes on Qualifiers and seeding:
1. The qualifiers will be played with the same settings as group stage matches. This pretty much just means that all qualifiers will be a single Bo5. Also, the qualifiers for both BIG LEAGUE and TINY LEAGUE will have the same exact settings.

2. The qualifiers determine which team goes where, but a lower seed cannot take the seed of the team they beat. Teams will still be organized based on their original seeding. For example: if White Eagle (S10) beats Soul Crazy (S7), they will still be a lower seed than whoever wins in KYO (S8) vs ioN (S9), because White Eagle is still Seed 10. Feel free to message an admin with any questions!

Updated Schedule:
For various reasons, not least of which is the inclusion of an additional league, I did have to do some moving around of the schedule, which is detailed below. Remember that these are broadcast dates - teams must have their matches played BEFORE their scheduled stream date:

July 28 (Tue) - BL Qualifier 1

August 4 (Tue) - BL Group A (Tundra), Day 1
August 6 (Thu) - BL Group B (Desert), Day 1

August 11 (Tue) - BL Group A (Tundra), Day 2

August 18 (Tue) - BL Semifinal 1 (Winner of Tundra vs Runner-up of Desert)
August 20 (Thu) - BL Semifinal 2 (Winner of Desert vs Runner-up of Tundra)

August 25 (Tue) - TL Semifinal 1 (Winner of Arctic vs Runner-up of Steppe)

To differentiate BL groups from TL groups we chose the following naming scheme:
BL Group A - Tundra
BL Group B - Desert
TL Group A - Arctic
TL Group B - Steppe

We hope naming the groups after nomadic environments isn't too confusing
