Hello, this question about RAM memory is for experienced people like PKZ or anyone else who knows.
-machine is 64bit system ( no previously added memory at all )
-motherboard supports 4x4GB DD3 slots
-motherboard supports dual chanel
-user wants to have 4GB of ram memory in total
Question1: I would like to know this: which is better( what is benefit/difference ) ?
1.get one stick of 4GB DD3
or
2.get two sticks of 2GB DD3 and put them as dual channel
Question2: If memory is putted into dual channel mode as 2x2GB is it still 4GB or it becomes 2GB of "faster/better" memory?
Question3: Does dual channel is something which could be a good option if we alreay have one stick of 2GB, and we have money for only 2GB upgrade. In other words, should we always tend to put memory into dual channel or its its just "escape option" to get more memory and still get good performance (same as we could get with one stick of 4 GB )?
