Today we are bringing news from the other side of the world where AoC is being played more than ever before. [CSC] members have organised another one of their 1vs1 tournaments, and this time with a fine prize to it and enormous popularity.
(2011) [CSC] Lunar New Year Cup started sometime in November [READMORELINKDOTS] when over 130 Chinese players signed up. These also included the currently most popular Chinese player - [CSC]Tiger also known as Tim_. Unfortunately, since Yangzhou was chosen as the official tournament server and only Chinese players were allowed to sign up, expert players from other countries have no other choice but to wait for another BCC.
At this point the Lunar New Year Cup is already approaching its big finale. 64 players who made it to 1st stage competed in single-elimination until 8 winners were left. These have just entered the Final Stage in which they are going to face each other in 7 rounds. As most of you may have expected, [CSC]Tiger is among them but according to a Chinese poll, the favourites that are most likely to seize the cup are [CSC]翠湖, [CSC]X2 and _XJL_寂寞.
Whatever the results may be, however, all finalists will all end up with some portion of the overall prize money which amounts to ¥ 12500 (approximately 1900 USD).
For those interested in watching the recorded games, we have already opened a tournament subsection which we are planning to fill up soon. Until then, you can obtain the records here.
