Nice review :) It gives a good introduction to the game. It certainly one of the more extensive and better reviews of FE out there. On a side note: you have a very enjoyable voice to listen to.
Thanks for sharing!
I would like to stress that that was (and is) only my personal opinion :) No need to put on your tin foil hats and speculate about an African mod being developed by Microsoft. Or is it?
Anyways, it's always fun to see suggestions for new civs. I hope modders pick up the idea and add...
Not sure if I understood your question. But if you ask me if there are scenarios with lots of monks in them, then the answer is "no". You won't face a wall of wolololo's
The Dracula campaign is a mix of Slavic, Magyar (and as opponents mainly Turks) since 15th century Wallachia was an unique mix of these cultures.
The campaign format is slightly different from AoC. We put more story in the gameplay so you can really experience the life of the main character. We...
@ineedinternet: He probably meant the western empire :)
@Ravag: the italian civ is based on the different political entities who are situated in the italian peninsula after the fall of the western empire. As such the uu is the genoese crossbowman and not the centurion or legionaire, which are...
There is a much faster way to restore the old hotkeys than changing them manually:
1. Launch aoc (age2x_1.exe)
2. Go to hotkeys and click "restore default" (or whatever the exact wording is)
3. Quit aoc and launch aofe (age2x_2)

As the historian on the team, I can assure you that we conduct a lot of historical research before implementing something. However, we still make a game. In the end, we chose what is fun over what is correct. People are not buying a studybook, but a game.

Thank you for taking your time to write a word of appreciation. This is what keeps us going ;)
If you want to give us some feedback about units, maps, AI's, etc there are plenty of topics around. I'm sure you'll find the right one.
Yes, we've thought and discussed about making the sets more widespread but in the end we did not want to break up the old classification. In addition, the slavic set would still remain underrepresented, so it would still feel unbalanced and confusing. Right now, it's very clear that the new sets...
(Northern) Italy, together with the Low Countries, was the most urbanized region in Europe, already in the high medieval ages. They were also one of the few regions were the urban network survived in the early medieval period. Thus, I'd not say that the rise occured only later. The city states...
It's technical possible to change the building set of the Byzantines, however this has been requested in the past before and the answer is still the same:
We have no plans in changing the building set of the AoC civs, including the Byzantines. Besides this design decision, I have discussed in...
