Re: when were quarters played, I think it was last week actually. So don't read too much into it. Any proof that Sitaux was "on vacation"? Seems weird
Very weak signs as half the players here are ok with Islands and Vinch did not really love it recently. I'd say Viper, TaToH, Jordan, Sebastian, Sitaux and Ganji are more likely to pick Islands than Vinch right now, at least.
Vikings on Islands is pretty standard from qualifiers.
Same for Franks on Slopes, Mihai also picked it twice in qualifier for instance.
Check recent tournaments, and qualifiers for instance. He did not really prioritze Islands/Water maps the way he used to a few years ago. He even banned Islands in qualifier once, vs Ming. And did lose the game vs Mihai in the "close" set, yes. From where do you have that Vinch lost his preference for Islands? I did quite some research today. He seemed to consistently prefer it and over decent sample found only a single loss(Mihai)
He doesn't prefer water maps. He specifically prefers Islands and other top players are afraid of specifically Islands. In the series where you chose between 3. They all prioritize picking the other water mapsCheck recent tournaments, and qualifiers for instance. He did not really prioritze Islands/Water maps the way he used to a few years ago. Khosrau had top 4 vibes tooHot take but what if we all have Vasco wrong and Vasco is TheViper? Here’s why:
Based on Ro16, the four strongest performances I saw were clearly: Vasco, Gaja, Zizka, and Alfred. We currently have a clear “top 3” in Hera, Viper, and Tatoh, so I’m going to guess all three are among these players, plus a strong performance from a top 8 player. So let’s move on to matching names:
Gaja - Clearly Tatoh, for reasons others have mentioned
Vasco - Super greedy, showing off quick walls, late walling of villagers, but also some over-casual defense leading to vill deaths on Hidden Forts, which has been an issue for Viper recently, plus the early gg doesn’t seem like Hera.
Zizka - This seems like Hera trolling and trying to appear as Viper, specifically going Malay fish boom on cross and then changing color to yellow the very next game! That is “so viper,” but it’s almost *too* viper, like Hera trying to troll as him.
I’ve heard this from many, and frankly I don’t see it. Can you help me see what I’m missing? Khosrau seemed to me a touch slower, sloppy, not as greedy, struggled in transitions, and lacked that killer, punishing ruthlessness that to me defines the best players. Clearly I’m missing something, would appreciate your thoughtsKhosrau had top 4 vibes too

Hera farms, Hera box abuse, aM draft, aM Bypass strat that Hera called after HC4, more Hera vibes in the style.Hot take but what if we all have Vasco wrong and Vasco is TheViper? Here’s why:
Yes, makes me think about the Jan fishtraps then.Fishtraps were that way to avoid getting sniped by archers (or siege) prolly, like Dave said.
Maaan Otto has so much chaotic energy. I've never heard a word more fitting for MbL than cockroach.
I know a certain Norwegian currently living in Germany grinning at all these silly fools who are thinking Khosrau is Sebastian
Very interesting. Is Alex Liereyy?Amazing set, but I still poured some thought into that fishtrap thing.
Jan and Gajah both going Bengalis on Bay, and both placing similar fishtraps, can't be a coincidence. That's an offmeta pick, and a very GL one. And that's definitely very unique to have two players with huge GL vibes who place the same "bad" fishtraps on the same map.
This really gives me a massive certainty of Viper-Jan, which I had from the start.
This is still clearly TaToH, idk what confuses people suddenly. Just map draft is a confirmation, and for good measure I checked during Arabia and there was clear use of box formation in feudal, and ACCM and Yo almost never use it. Generally, that Arabia game is completely not how I would expect Yo to play Mayans on Arabia anyway, I would have expected a much earlier Eagle transition, instantly as he saw siege, imo.
Let's see the demos on mudflow.
I like my Barles theory for Sumanguru still, but then we assume he knew he'd face Hera and that explains the switch in map draft. Probably means Sitaux-Jadwiga even if houses are an issue, and Hearttt-Alfred, and still Sebastian-Khosrau as I thought.
Let's see if tomorrow proves me right for Sebastian-Khosrau and Jan-Viper, but I'm more confident than I was before this TaToH's set.
Your comments remind me jeowaypoint who literally said the same thing in HC4 about Admiral Jordan. That Viper would probably smile reading us, and that Jordan would be flattered.I know a certain Norwegian currently living in Germany grinning at all these silly fools who are thinking Khosrau is Sebastian
Alexios LiereyyVery interesting. Is Alex Liereyy?
Suma is certainl one of the "lesser" players, Barles is a good shout.
Why does Tatoh carry on in this Mudslopes game though? I really think it could be Vinch.
