"pursuit of absolute control over the flow of information?"Correct me if I am wrong, but I assume you condemn the actions of the CCP, the USSR, North Korea, the Islamic Republic of Iran, Spain during the Spanish Inquisition, the Catholic Church during the HRE, and a thousand other theoretical dystopian regimes described in novels such as Fahrenheit 451 and 1984. What all of these governments had in common is that they opposed free speech and imprisoned those who had unpopular, dissenting views.
What makes the modern German government suddenly righteous in their pursuit of absolute control over the flow of information? Are you truly naive enough to believe that this is the one exception, and that suppressing free speech is totally fine as long as "we" do it?
