No, you are right. Mr. RayneAfter seeing you post and Butterfly's post, I decided to check up on a few things. I didn't check before but I have been hearing things all week about covid cases in the county I live in. Not sure about sources on things from what I was told, but here's mine within the past 5-10 minutes (latimes is one of the most reputable sources btw):
L.A. County sees another sharp rise in coronavirus cases as mask rules set to take effect
L.A. County recorded more than 1,900 new coronavirus cases Friday, another major jump. Masks are required in public places starting Saturday night.www.latimes.com
For those not wanting to read it and me quoting verbatim:
Skeptics (and somewhat understandable too) can say 'citation needed' with that 97%. So they gave it:
Press Briefing by White House COVID-19 Response Team and Public Health Officials | The White House
11:07 A.M. EDT MR. ZIENTS: Good morning, and thanks for joining us. Today, Dr. Walensky will provide an update on the state of the pandemic and the Delta variant. Then, Dr. Fauci will present the data from other countries facing the Delta variant. I will provide an update on how we’re...www.whitehouse.gov
Quoting something verbatim btw:
Anyone can read the stuff above this which is the 4th paragraph, and dates of said articles are also within past 3 days for both links. Very recent. So far, what Masmora said holds up. What's with the data table on Israel that someone posted then though? Did I misinterpret it or something?
That's also the data that I learned and all the news I read quotes, albeit a slight difference in numbers.
So, in this case, vaccines is absolutely useful and also prevent people from severe symptoms, which I also recognize and supports from my very first post.
However, there're two key argument I want to point out is :
first, we are mainly talking about delta variant, which is more common in Europe and Israel, and most vaccines are proven to be ineffective against them, except mRNA vaccines
second, US is accessible to large quantity of mRNA vaccines, while many other countries (say UK who wants to do reopen) don't...
and if you are as rich as US, maybe all the "wasting money" part of my comment does not apply, but at least that's what people here are talking about
