That is true, it may look inconsistent but my thought is just that the early game is already interesting enough to hold someone's attention, no matter the strategy choice. That doesn't apply to everyone though of course. I'm basically opposed to any change done "because dark age is boring". However, I could get to like changes done because they would be fun, like imo the lithuanians Civilization bonus.@HungryHungryHussars Start a new thread about quickwalling with that as the op, it deserves the attention imo.
You were advocating for a strategy that satisfies the impatient but can be criticized as cheesy at the same time you were characterizing others as impatient for not savoring the non-cheesy aspects of the early game so it was confusing to me. It is true however that a fast drush can easily backfire on the player trying it and in moderation it is not so cheesy as to be intolerable so the two things you are saying are not really inconsistent. I would say liking these strategies helps support the point Static was making but realistically no one can argue they don't get a little bored of the standard opening at times. There is room to look at small tweaks aimed at the first 2 or 3 minutes without compromising all the interesting things about Dark Age you bring up I think. What are your thoughts on adding a second starting scout?
Two scouts could be interesting for sure. Wouldn't mind trying it out. It would be a lame-fest though :P so I probably would eventually not like it.
