Hey all - I've found this to be an interesting discussion to follow. It's always informative to see the many varied opinions and I think that's part of what makes for a good community.
I am not a competitive player - I only play versus AI and I play a lot of custom campaigns, but I do enjoy watching tournaments and the streams of many players. I've seen a lot of talk about palisade walls and gates, and while I'm not against quick-walling, I don't like how players are able to use a palisade gate to either defend against or trap an opponent. I have no idea how the mechanics would work, but quick-gating shouldn't be part of the game. Maybe if the whole cost of the gate was applied and a player wouldn't get any of the resources back if they delete the gate before it's completed. I don't know what the solution is, I just know that as someone that really enjoys watching the game, seeing players using a gate like this is something I wish didn't happen. Thanks for the opportunity to offer an opinion. Cheers to all!
