You are not wrong that Liereyy, TheViper, MbL, Dave, T90 and Memb are some of the most influential AoE 2 figures right now.
But I would definitely add Hera, Nili, DauT, maybe Spirit of the Law and TaToH. Less measurable for us, but probably influential for as many people are Yo, Lyx and vivi. Chrazini and robo for long-term admin work in many big tournaments are good candidates too.

Maybe someone can make a list that includes:

• Average live stream viewers, followers and subscribers
• Total Youtube videos, views and subscribers
• Other social media appearances, followers, likes and post frequency (e. g. Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Reddit)
• For players: Strategies and events which are associated with them and often mentioned by casters and fans
• Something else I forgot?

It cannot be objective, because some aspects are hard to compare, but having a topic/page which lists people not only based on their in-game achievements like https://www.aoezone.net/threads/the...-voted-by-expert-players-5-to-1-is-up.172002/ would be interesting. Like a hall of fame, but not only for players.

I feel most average fans don't know the most influential people in AOE, me included. The CEO of FE for example (Ryan Shepherd), this seems more a list of influential streamers. Plenty goes on behind the scenes that we're not privy to.
My most influential streamers/public personalities in impacting the audience not the game itself list would be:
1. TheViper
2. T90
3. Hera
4. Dave
5. Yo (should probably be higher on the list but I don't really know what his reach is)

And someone at Microsoft supplying the prize pool. not the role Nili formerly held, but the person who gave him the money to allocate. The final decision maker on balance would also be another. But without knowing how the company/ies work I don't know if we can nail down a top 5. I don't even know if it's the type of thing that has a clear 5

It's true that Microsoft, Red Bull and the developers have a huge influence on the game, but I would not call them "community figures". Some people like Cysion or Turkman were community figures in the past, but their roles and appearances have changed a lot, so if you mostly follow AoE 2 on streams, Youtube, other social media, on AoEZone, Discord, etc., you almost don't see them at all, or not as much people, but behind a "Age of Empires" or "Forgotten Empires" Twitter acount.

Just because they're not getting as much attention from the public doesn't mean they're not part of the community and heavily influencing it. What you're talking about is a public figure, not a community figure. But we're arguing semantics. I knew what OP meant and gave a list for it. I just want more people to start recognising how much work goes on to help the community that people don't know about/appreciate.

T90 and SOTL would be on top for me. Both with 300k+ viewers on YT, and massive amounts of views every day
Closely followed by Viper and Hera
If we also include non-English figures we have people like Mario Ovalle, Tatoh or Yo who might deserves a spot on the list.
If not its probably Memb on 5th place. Memb is doing great on Twitch, but his YT is not as big compared to some of the other creators
Dave might get on the list soon if he continues like this
Nili is almost up there as well

This list is based on current content creators, and i have not included people working "behind the scenes"

I dont have my full list, but imo Viper > T90.

1) Their YT subs are fairly close, 260k vs 310k. I know T90 had way more Twitch subs but thats more like loyal fan base. (EDIT: Viper has more twitter followers btw)

2) T90 has quite a lot of content with Viper in it, you follow T90 you know Viper. On the other hand, Vipers content doesnt really contain T90 until lately (ie. T90s Titan League).

3) The AOE4 community also knows Viper.

If we take all-time, these names are there, but ZeroEmpires, The_Prophet, scripter 64, PkZ, The Sheriff (I think he was tester for AOK back then?) and some of the top players that dominated the scene before Chris and DauT should be mentioned. Also The TyRanT and SY sponsors and sponsors/organizers of early tournaments, Arbalet was one of them, right? I am not too familiar with players who disappeared before 2012.

Probably not best suited for a "most influential list" but how about HappyLeaves for his work on the Spectator Dashboard? Maybe better suited for an "underrated contribution" list but I feel like the dashboard has made life a lot easier for players, casters, and viewers alike.

If Nili and Hera were influential, AOE2 was dead.

SOTL is by far the strongest content creater, T90 and Viper completes top 3. I don't think others play a significant role, except Memb.

Now I have to explain Memb part a bit, he is not really influential and he doesn't get opportunity to be influential also and often get benched or given second-tier importance from organizers in big tournaments.
But Memb is like your shelter in a stormy weather, if no one is streaming you know Memb will be online, if everybody switched to another game you know Memb will keep doing AOE2. That's his role in the community and he fills it perfectly.

Guess it depends whether the question is most influential now, or of all times.
While Nili's attachment to the game has been debatable over the past year, the role he played in growing the competitive scene since 2017 or so cannot be understated.

Their patches added the ability to add civs for the original FE mod, new AI features for scripts like Barbarian, the spectator system, new map scripting tools for stuff like picking positions, etc. I can't imagine streaming taking off for Aoe2 the way it did if people had to continue co-oping to watch matches live. Even if MS kept remastering the game after HD, we wouldn't have anywhere near the features we have today without UP showing what was possible.

Agreed, Scripter was mad talented, the amount of features User Patch introduced to the game easily tops everything HD brought. Current Devs have Scripter to thank for many of the features they are able to implement nowadays
