Given my long history with the Age series I think it is appropriate to give some official farewell. I've been around longer than anyone I know and I've met quite a lot of people along the way. My first online Aoe1 game was in December 1997 or January 1998, and oh damn, I've played a lot of games since then. Many great memories. And this game has contributed a lot into making me the person I am today. For good and for worse... better self-esteem, worse social skills
Some of my greatest memories past 13 years would be:
-Teaching and practicing 1vs1 with KW (AoE1) and then watching him pwn almost everyone in AoK and early AoC
-Winning Exorcist 1vs1 in aoe1, the Daut of that time
-Cooping maimin_matty and sheriff in a 1vs1 tournament (such legends and great guys; Sheriff played brilliant btw)
-Playing with the fluffy's and the ingenious toxicundergroov, the funniest person on the planet
-The great people in _RIP_
-Being accepted into into Myth clan
-Winning Halen 1vs1 huns war some time after he won WCG
-Founding and running the amazing clan Zilla. Somehow I managed to get the best talents to join, for example Sorck, ralber, Geek, Igloo and a few more
The only purpose of gaming is to have fun and I feel the amount of practice necessary in today's AoC to maintain a decent skill level makes AoC, well, not so fun for me. I'm kind of a loser anyway for spending so damn much time on a game; every other old schooler has quit long ago and are probably living a very good life (I'm told Crexis is a monk now, hah!). I'll try to do the same now. God I hope I never return. Time to start a family, get a solid income and all that other mundane crap people are supposed to do. If you see me log on again tell me to go away!!
Keep having fun, and I hope the community stays alive and strong. AoC... the greatest game ever made.
