For a lot of people the swiss system sound complicated and this post will not make it look more simple but I would just like to point out my opinion on the seeding and the swiss system on the up coming tournament. I believe a qualification of 1 week for seeds 7 to 10 fighting since rating will be to most likely very close to each other.
I also think by using the swiss system this type of matchup would work perfectly.
week 1 - 1vs5 2vs6 3vs7 4vs8
week 2 - 1vs3 2vs4 / 5vs7 6vs8
Week 3 - 1vs2 / 3vs6 4vs5 / 7vs8
week 4 - 3vs4 / 5vs6 / 2vs7
week 5 - 4vs5 or 2vs5 4vs7
Just like in a normal elimination bracket, you steal the seed of someone or another team when you win against them. (In MoA5 Rubenstock won against Edie and became seed #2)
If seed #5 win against seed #1 he become seed #1 and will fight against seed #3 in the second week.
(After week 3 seed #1 advance to semi finals since they won 3 games and seed #8 is out of the tournament)
(After week 4 seed #3 advance to semi finals since they won 3 games and seed #6 is out of the tournament)
Week 5 games would depend on week 4 result of the games 2vs7.
If seed #2 wins, he advance to the semi finals since he will have won 3 games so far in the tournament and seed #7 would be out of the tournament.
One game left to be played on week #5 creating 4vs5.
If seed #7 wins, all 4 remaining teams has won and lost 2 games creating 2vs5 & 4vs7.
The reason week 3 is not 1v2 / 3vs5 4vs6 / 7vs8 is that it would be possible for 3vs5 & 4vs6 to be team who already faced each other in week 1. Somewhat the same concept of the second round of a loser bracket.
It is possible that the game 2vs7 of week 4 would be two team who already faced each other but this option is way better then doing 2vs3 / 4vs5 / 6vs7 since 4vs5 just faced each other in week 3 and I just explained why we cant make 3vs5 isnteed of 4vs5 in week 3.
It is possible that the games in week 5 are two team who already faced each other.
