Here's a thread of suggestions for nerfing the Cumans.
My personal suggestion is to remove bloodlines from them. It may seem a bit weird to have a cavalry civ without bloodlines ... but I'd justify it the same way it is justified that they don't have bracer despite having a ranged UU. They're already an OP civ (it would also make their OP UU even more squishy if it had no bloodlines).
Lancers still need a nerf, of course, whilst still being a strong unit ... just not QUITE as OP. Increasing their gold cost, would be my suggestion so it's at least not so cost effective--maybe ieven increase its food cost a bit too. They're a strong unit ... but they're also just way too cost-effective at the moment. (As a sidenote .... the Tartars' UU needs its gold cost DECREASED.... that unit's ablity is to generate gold but the unit has such a high gold cost that it's totally not worth it!)
And it would also give more reason for the Tartars' to be used more if they have lancers with bloodlines. Because at the moment they're just so much weaker than the Cumans (and also than the other new civs, in my opinion).
(At first I thought of removing the lancers away from Cumans altogether ... as that would both nerf the Cumans AND make the Tartars more unique (the Tartars have the least identity of the new civs, IMO)... but then I realized that that's a hopeless dream as the devs are never going to do that if the Cumans campaign already features steppe lancers).
What do you think?
