What better way to celebrate Valentine's Day than inviting some couples from GL and AM to duke it out? Same format as previous co-ops, this time with 3 completely new maps and 2 from prior matches (and those 2 riffs from the TG tourney to give AM a more even playing field as GL members have played some co-ops already). This matchup features more of a watery twist before ending with a classic land dish.
The map pool can be found in the in-game Mods list under “Dragonmilks Delicious Dozen” map pack.
Melon – We start with the latest Arena variant, Melon! From the foundations of a team game map, the center is actually a watery core that makes for 5 distinct paths between opponents. Walls are gateless to prevent vision, but are also uphill to make pushes a little harder. Which zones will players prioritize in the opening game?
Crumbled Cobbler – This is a water map. With a flaming camel scout for your steppe starts. On one side there is backup golds and the other backup stone. The richest resources, however, require contesting water…or walling off waterways.
Pez Panino – Our third map is a Regicide game. Should be a fairly simple hybrid map but with brood war style start possibilities. You may start in a land war, but most likely you will cross some mangroves to reach your opponent.
Burrito Brawl – We once again ask the question at what point are enchiladas reduced to a mere fishcake? Rather than full fiesta this cross position spawn is merely a burrito. As such, it should play out just like Black Forest…right?
Pizza Deluxe – To close out the set, we once again end with Pizza. As a reminder, unlike the Peace-O-Pizza and Personal Pizza, this Deluxe version means you can build TWO town centers from the very beginning (restart if tc war). Will the teammate be a net positive in dealing with the glory of Pizza?
