Boar straight to 0 food?

no idea what I am doing wrong

in 3 of my +- 30 games I had a boar going directly to 0 food after i killed it.

Anyone knows how I can prevent this?
I am bad enough without losing the food of a boar early game

Do not kill boar with military units or TC fire.

If you kill it with anything else than villagers, there will be no food

If you kill it with your TC (by firing at it) or with your scout ( or any military ), it won't give any food.

Is that the problem ?

probably. When my villager is low in healh, i hide him in the TC. So probably the TC just had the last shot then.
