It might be a problem with fullscreen mode. If you plan to stream v1.3 or v1.0c on GR, you can get this package. It includes preinstalled versions of both UP v1.3 and Enhanced v1.0c, which are both streamable in windowed mode. Enhanced v1.0c is fully compatible with original v1.0c for multiplayer games, recs, etc.
For v1.3 games, you can just launch age2_x1.exe as-is. For v1.0c, I think GR will require you to rename age2_x1.0c.exe (the Enhanced v1.0c exe) to age2_x1.exe in order to launch, though.
Thank you so much scipter64! You are incredible ops: That seemed to work fine!! Just my screen resolution is only 1680x1050. my screen supports 1920x2000 and i can't get it show up like you did here: http://img836.imageshack.us/img836/5808/qrdq.png
Can you tell me what did you do to force your desktop screen ?
The resolutions shown in-game are directly provided by your graphics driver. It just fills the resolutions that your driver reports that it supports for 8-bit (256) color mode. If you believe your driver is incorrect, and you can actually support a higher resolution, you can manually set the resolution in the registry. When in windowed mode, please remember that it's important to not go over your desktop resolution.
For 1080p (1920x1080):
1. close the game
2. run regedit from the start menu
3. browse on the left side to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Age of Empires II: The Conquerors Expansion\1.0
4. on the right side, double-click on "Screen Width", select Decimal base, type in 1920, click OK
5. on the right side, double-click on "Screen Height", select Decimal base, type in 1080, click OK
6. close regedit
7. run the game
If you touch the resolution options in-game after manually setting it, it may try to restore a driver-supported resolution, so you may need to repeat this process. Please take care to only enter a valid resolution.
Thank you very much over and over. I'm sure this will work. Actually my screen claims only 1680x1050, but surprisely i can play in 1920x2000. Thanks to Powerstrip!! I spent hours to find out which wider screen that fits best and eventually ended up being able to use 1920x1080 or 1920x2000.
My stream link is: http://www.twitch.tv/greg_stream
I'm currently updating my wireless card and network drivers. According to Driverscanner i have less than 15 min to run a live test. Thank you again for standing by me. You are a true scripter 111
Enhanced v1.0c is identical to normal v1.0c in every way (gameplay + networking, etc.). Only a few things like the resolution changes, custom soundtracks, etc. are added. Depending on the system, it can be hard to stream at a high resolution, though. If you run in fullscreen mode by removing wndmode.dll, you would get improved performance, but then the stream would be black. Are you able to use the OBS software to stream?
Thank you for your reply. I didn't know about removing wndmode, thanks; However yesterday It turned out that my internet provider was causing the lag not the patch, so i should be trying it out as soon as internet get fixed. Unfortunately I can't use OBS, I get a message that says unable to create d3d.device. I tried disabling direct draw and 3d acceleration but to no avail. I read in their forum that running obs requires a specific directx version and my version doesn't allow to run obs even though i tried downgrading which by the way it didn't work 11
