At my level, BF is just walling up early, boom till imp and then fight, which I consider boring, so I am interested in having a little bit of strategic discussion about this map so that I can enjoy it a little bit more.
Currently I am playing with some early feudal aggresion and earlier I tried aztecs monks+siege aggresion, which normally failed horriby to just one castle at a choke point + boom behind. Feudal aggression normally achieves that my flank ends up as delayed as me and sometimes his flank makes knights to help, so my pocket can just full boom and clean them both in imp (normally as khmer). Of course sometimes I only achieve some map control and sometimes I just plain fail. My feudal aggresions consists normally in ma at arms and a few towers, I go archer or scouts only if I have an sneak.
I consider these strategies sub-optimal and I think I win mostly because of the surprise and I play them anyway because i get more fun out of them.
My question is if there are some of these strategies that are sometimes good choices.
How should I read the map in BF?
Sometimes the flank is so open that I don't even care for walling , I will go full feudal and play it as an open map. Somethimes there are long chokepoints that I need to rush to wall in order to gain map control or else I won't be able to achieve anything.
What's the stantard walling time? Is loom considered optimal when you go walling? Are aggro pre-imp strategies good choices in 4v4BF?
Every insight and discussion will be welcome
