Hi,
Always download arena recs (Terror, Wakko, Savas, Edie, others) and retain some things about common strats used. Just to keep it known for others, a basic introdution:
Civs with redemption: Aztecs, Byzantines, Chinese, Japanese, Saracens, Spanish, Teutons and Turks.
Aztecs and Spain got all techs available with meso recognized as top arena civ. However, Byzantines and Teutons could research 9 techs (with bonus related) altough we can perform a monk rush with all these civs.
When watching arena recs, and if some player executes monk rush-> FI (sometimes with castle drop), noticed there is a build order in which some monastery techs must be researched:
Sanctity – Fervor – Redemption – Block Printing – Illumination – Theocracy – Atonement (only when needed). Order could be changed, but this is more "common".
Now, with your experience, what is best against FI player (around 24-26 mins) with castle up (sometimes close to your walls) and supported with a bunch of UU’s (other) + mass upgraded monks + few trebs?
If, for some reason, my opponent collected 3-5 relics, i can “imagine” this scenario but mostly times I’m booming from TC’s and now realise must create a considerable castle army to avoid his (little) imperial strike.
However, knights is a bad idea (converted by monks and delay boom), x-bows/CA’s must be massed (enemy castle fire and 1/2 mangonels could be added), defensive mangs may be converted too…
I watched Edie (Japs) doing these vs Wakko (Turks). Spread outside arena? Mass light cavalry vs monks? Add UU (ranged ones)?
And, when you decide to: (i) click imperial fast or (ii) just use that relic gold to boom good (more vills on wood/food) and attack later but with more army? Do you think of using early imp civs advantages? Thanks.
