only thing i have noticed is that trebs seem to be more effective if you target with each one indiviudally instead of selecting as a group and firing with all at once, though this is just a hunch, no real evidence to support it.

Ares, it might be due to elevations. Ive seen many cases where trebs miss horribly when they are above elevation. And atleast sometimes when this happened, enemy trebs firing from below turned out to be really accurate.
