Game 2 8th vs PFC

Aztec vs Aztec...
You stole boar causing him to be slightly later..gj. From feudal to castle things were even. He does manage his economics better though. Its more organized and balanced. He went +1 on wood which is a good idea with house civs doing a drush. His map was definitely boomable whereas yours was slightly unboomable and many hills. You placed your first tc in a bad spot... It would have been better if placed behind woods here...
You happened to place it in a ok spot but the best spot was behind your woods especially on this map. On the spot you placed it you had a good frontal defense, your buildings guarded your economy here..
Placing your tc behind the wood means those archers would have to pass through your tc to disrupt your wood, which was the most vulnerable area on your map, so easy to disrupt. That usually can always be remedied with good tc placement.
The biggest issue this game was your map was much more unboomable then his map. His frontal woods could be controlled with a castle here...
and another one here
I think you should have played strong castle play against him and risked it all the way. With strong castle play you can control the map and the game; but you must forget about going imp. If you manage to keep control over his map for 5-10 minutes, you will expand with ease and have room to expand anywhere with less disturbance; and he may imperial before you; and then tension rises. I have not played many aztec vs aztec games honestly. Yet on most maps that I feel I can't boom. I press to get handcart early, then I may only have 1 tc or 2, until minute 26-30 I start to expand to play strong in castle age, doing a late expansion during those minutes. I would probably try to get 60-80 ew (executing timed raids) with a mix of 20-30 xbow (timed attacks operating in splits). If I won him in battle I'll add 2 siege workshops targeting his military buildings then his tc's to build some tension and win the war. You should keep expanding until 90-100 vills (with aztecs). Ideally you should always have more units then him. With castles up you can add jaggies to create a lil resistance vs his EEW. Thats the best thing about going strong in castle age you can add castles to control certain areas of the map, but you have to do a careful expansion: having 10 total on stone by minute 29, and you expand your mititary output: adding more buildings to produce more units ideally out populating him, but more importantly to control the game and certain areas of his map. If you succeed you should be able to expand with minimal disturbances because he should be trying to ram down your castles; keep him constantly defending. You could also risk going longswords to destroy all his military buildings and then later his tc's. Its a risk, but a fun one; and also a good one with some practice.
This game should of been focused towards controlling the map and not micro. PFC is swj_cloudy? I know he has a good resistance vs anything. He can counter most strategies you do vs him, but his map denies him to counter in the way he could; on say a green arabia map.
Tip 1: Learn how to be a good pusher in castle age its very good when your map is unboomable. Pushing engages you in learning map control concepts and the power of overtaking your enemy even if he reaches Imperial before you. Instead of thinking of an army of 40, think of armies of 100s.
Your micro early on.. you did mess up slightly giving him the upper hand defensively. Learn to retreat and regroup your army so that they can operate as a whole. Operating your army in a split is only useful if his map is open and he has not walled. You left three archers in the corner you should have routed them to the left to go towards the center to be regrouped with your entire army. You lost maybe 4-5 archers which could of helped you control his gold.
Tip 2: Work on operating your army as whole, retreating so you can regroup and do maximum damage.
Tip 3: Start market booming so u can tc your stones for strong castle play; and other good areas.
