Obviously people are putting money towards show matches for a reason. 1) they have disposable money to do so 2) they want to see good games 3) enjoy helping the community. If someone were to take the helm, such as yourself, I'd be willing to bet 30-40 people would be willing to donate money to...
It's a strategy that works. Winning seems to be more important now with more money tied to tournaments and streaming. Walling was frowned upon 10-20 years and for various reasons, it wasn't viable with the strategies in place. Units changed, game mechanics changed, and walling became a winning...
Great point. The koreas always had "teachers' or the perception they had them. They did take gaming more seriously so that could be part of it. Certainly more popular now with training partners and such for everyone.
Yes, well said. Koven had a tremendous boom for the time. He was an excellent castle, to late castle, to imp player, which was standard. He morphed into a strong feudal player as well. Keeping up with economy and fighting without smart villagers that idle, having to reseed farms, resolution...

It's a different world now. Things that were ok a decade ago, even a few years ago, they are no longer acceptable in ANY form in society. In any sport with sponsors and the company image in the public sphere, where money is an issue, there is no room for error with racism involved. Stuff gets...
Naturally. Lots of amazing players do well in TGs. But he was ELITE in 1v1 and that's where he made his bones. His peak play was during a very strong 1vs1 period in AOC. It's always been easier to go from a great 1v1 to beastmode in TGs.
I think you might be running into players that played this game for many years, went into retirement, and now they are stopping in again. For folks that played for 5, 10, 15 years, it takes 10 games to be pretty average again. They might pop into 1 v 1 here and there. That would be my main...
