I like to throw endless streams of halberdiers to my enemy when he attacks me. I then attack him in the rear in his own base with gold units. Teutonic Knights hack a base down to nothing in no time. Especially since my enemies virtually never wall properly (or at all).
Not at all. I find regular games too stressful. I very much dislike micro managing units and build orders. I like large maps and long late games.
ETKs survive longer in large #s. I usually build up to 12 castles near the opponent's fortified city. Coupled with SOs that works a lot better than Byzantines. ;)
Yesterday I played 2 ludikris games.
Game 1: Byzantines versus Mongols (opponent). I told the opponent to build a fortress city in a corner. He did not listen of course. He invested everything in getting to imperial ASAP. In the mean time I was booming my economy. I built a very strong...
Interesting. I like the game the way it is. Let me know how this works out. I played Byzantines yesterday and I had a hard time crushing a Britons player. I really missed the Teutonic Knights and Siege Onagers to wipe out his archers.
Played another great game yesterday. About 2 hours. Teutons versus Magyars. His cavalry was unable to hurt my economy and I rolled him up with halberdiers / teutonic knights / battering rams and siege onagers. :D
On specifications you are right but when there are 50 siege onagers and 20 castles the monks are toast. Plus 16 siege workshops continue to produce new siege onagers continuously and trebuchets are toast once Teutonic knights or paladins get to them.
NR is fun for me. I do not like rushing: it is too much micro management and seems like a waste of time. There is a brief battle and the game is over. At least with shooting games you can re-spawn right away after being killed.
I really like 500 population games on Ludikris with 60 minutes no...
I played a nice war yesterday. 9 to 1045PM. Quite the war: my opponent attacked me relentlessly (Aztecs: him versus Japanese: me). But towards 1030PM his economy ran out of steam and I overwhelmed him: he then resigned.
My castles, scout cavalry(against his siege onagers) and...
Building an empire with large cities is so much more interesting than micro managing battles IMO. It also takes very different skills. I hope they boost the population size to 1000 soon. That would be awesome.
I personally think the Ludikris map size makes for the best games. You can really build empires and fight a long war rather than just a few small battles.
