Then its fine. However, some of the comments here are about a players personality or whatever. That should not have been. It players right to forfeit, even if its unsportsman like. Even more so when the legitimacy of the series been called in to question. Of course these kinds of things happen...
When you have a tournament that is supposed to be run in a professional manner, the standard expectation should rules should be enforced consistently full stop. This isn't about personalities.
The idea that HD had anything to do with this place is laughable. AOE2 was Microsoft's most successful PC game. It was them remastering an old game for modern hardware, a very common practice. From all looks of things, they weren't even aware that this place existed. Despite that game out...
I check into Aoe Zone about once a year around the time of the big tournaments, its always drama over which caster didn't get included blah.We should be excited that, Red Bull, a company that casts far bigger events is even taking any interest in AOE2. We are no bodies in the worlds of E-sports...
I think the sense of perspective is lost in HD discussions, is that people don't consider HD for what it was intended to be which is a simple re-release of game. It was made largely ignoring the multiplayer community. It was simply intended a small touch up of Microsoft's best selling PC game...
Its really hard to estimate this number. Steam sold 5,000,000 copies and many people who played this game in the 90s don't know that there is a copy of it on steam. However, a large number of those players are people who play the game casually (i.e. have a few hours on the game and don't really...
I read half the thread. I think the reason I would like to see multique, should be standard is that it is the standard on HD, which serves as the official release for these expansions. Its not like multique is the source of all major balance issues and too me this is changing the game...
I'm not a strong enough player that I can really give an analysis I'd trust. However, something I think worth considering is Japanese now have blood lines. I think that changes their viability as an all around civ.
I rarely post here, and I have to say reading this thread (some of the other threads) , I wonder why admins and moderators here allow threads like these to persist. They are incredibly damaging to the community, since a lot more people generally read/lurk on forums rather than post on them. It...
I have no plans to participate, but I'm talking to friends into it. How do you guys plan on policing smurfing? Its much harder in HD and smurfing is rampant in the silver league levels.
The point of the video is that I am not a decent player. I barely pay 1700 on HD. If I can go consistently into three tc boom with a 23+2 pop with Indians, then what can a decent player do? I think Indian's villager bonus might be a bit too good.
So I did this as an experiment after hearing about a recent game with my favorite pro <3. I've felt the Indians are a bit over powered, and wanted to see what was the fastest reasonably achievable castle time I could get. Keep in mind I'm a total scrub as far as competitive players go and play...
I think voobly running the game better from a players stand point, isn't all that true. They run about the same. I play HD regularly and the lag isn't horrible between all NA and EU players in 4 v 4 Arabias. In patch 5.2/5.3 have never had a out of sync in 1 v 1.
I think what voobly does have...
Age of Empires 2 HD runs at the native resolution of your monitor. I had to check this when I first bought the game and notice that the option to switch your resolution was missing. So the reason your laptop is running at 1366 x 768 is that is likely the laptop monitors native resolution. That...
The fact that small fraction of players only play on voobly is irrelevant. What people are arguing is that growth in Voobly tracking growth of HD sales. Even if .01% of HD players come to voobly, they can be growing at the same rate or voobly could be growing at some multiple of the HD growth...
