I'll admit that my comment was a bit out of line since I overreacted a bit. Still though, free ballistics even when it requires a university is still a significant bonus. Ballistics cost a whopping 300+ wood with hefty time to research and if you were to ask me, is easily the most important...
Thanks. Sorry if I sounded like a condescending jerk from my post. I'll admit that I have overreacted, but that's mainly because I personally think all the civs at the moment is fine, and Cysion and team did more than a good job balancing each and every civ. But then again, to each their own...
I'm sorry to say this but I completely dislike the balance changes. I really like the graphical updates and I think they are wonderful, but I'm concerned that the new balance implementations might make certain civs OP. Especially when there was no community backing the 3.1 change.
1) All the...
*multiplayer. (I have no idea why it got cut out)
At the moment whenever I play with someone on AoF steam the lag is simply HORRIBLE. Like, the units pause every 3 seconds, and the response of the units are delayed by 2 seconds (I'm not kidding when I say this) whenever I input a keyboard or...
I was, but given that the playerbase for the AoFE was so ridiculously small I didn't really see much point into playing and practicing it anymore, considering that only once in a blue moon will I find someone to play against. So I decided to move onto other games like DotA or LoL.
Hopefully...
So I went on steam, and I purchased the AoE II HD + Forgotten expansion at a 10% discount deal.
Then I installed it. I was able to play AoF fairly well.
However, something weird happened after. I exited AoF, and I decided to play AoF again. However, AoF WAS NOT THERE anymore. Instead, the game...
What I think is AoFE 2.2 is well balanced as it is already. There's no need for more changes.
Also, Franks should keep their foraging bonus. Before in AoC they were the only civ in the game without an early game bonus that doesn't dominate imperial age.
You're right, Mongols should have halberdiers.
In imperial age, Mongols should mass the halberdiers, and then have masses of elite mangudai and siege onagers behind the halbs. Nothing can touch the SO's and elite mangudai, and any cavalry that travels through will be slaughtered by the halbs...
Seriously? You think Mongols or Huns are more deserving of Sipahi than Turks? Do you not know how broken 100 HP elite mangudai would be?
They gave Turks Sipahi because in AoC, Turks are one of only two civ with FU cavalry archers, but that was not enough. So the team decided to boost them...
It'll be interesting to see how Obsidian Arrows would change the metaplay. At the moment it sounds like a very strong tech - Mayans can just bust through the gates and destroy castles with skirmishers alone. No need for rams or trebuchets. This tech may put Mayans up a few notches in trash wars.
What's your problem, vkk?
Have you not seen the amount of work the developers put into creating the game?
Have you not seen the countless times the developers spent testing for balance in the game? It's not like they decided one day to "LOL let's try removing stone walls from the Huns...
Ideally, it would be AoFE HD, but as of now, I'm going to choose AoFE over the other two any time of the day, because it's farrr more balanced. And more historically accurate, because right now I just can't see Mongol ECG's, Hunnic cannon galleons, Hunnic stone walls, and Squire-less Franks the...
Let's say you're fighting in a 2 vs 2 match on land or on water, with a civ that has an above average fast feudal, and fast castle (i.e. Huns). The map is medium sized, such that it will take a very long time for the opponent to move their units to your base area, and all the players are...
Let's say you're playing a water map. Would it be better to build a dock first instead of a mill and then get fishing ships out, and wait till feudal age to build a mill to research HD; or is it better to build a mill, research HD, then build a dock?
Re: Which civ has the best archer/skirmisher rush in the gam
Barb, what would be a good way for the Mayans to flush? Not skirmishers, since the bonus doesn't affect them, so that would leave archers.
However, archers are easily owned by skirmishers, and when most people flush, they either use...
