I would say bad pathing is helping Lancers the most, in melee fights, units always wander around trying to hit their targets, Lancers hit 1 tile away, no need to path through wteva unit is in front.A well executed fc steppe lancer with mongols is really hard to stop with most of the civs unless you have a god-like map. Strat is kinda broken and thats why the ladder is full of bots force picking the civ and doing that rush.
Lancers with cumans and tatars are also super strong but more counterable since they lack the mongol timing and extra hp.
I agree something should be done about mongol ones. It's not a matter of pathfinding.
I even forgot to mention the classic potential laming from a mongol player. This strat with an extra boar becomes twice as hard to stop lol.Yeah Mongol steppes are so dumb. Once 40 are made, the game literally breaks vs almost all units. Seen 40 knights die vs 40 steppes and 20-25 survive, camels lose, pikes don’t work too, ca/xbow won’t work after awhile. Prisma for example has a really good bo for massing ton of steppes where you can see how it’s so broken. Only unit I saw laugh vs steppes were monaspa but it was a smaller fight, like 20 vs 20.
