1. Format, Time Frame and Signing Up
The tournament will consist of a seeded single elimination bracket played on Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition. The number of rounds will depend on the number of signups.
Signups close on Tuesday, 12th May 2020, 11:59 pm IST. Every Indian player is open to sign up regardless of their rating and skill level.
Tournament starts on Wednesday 13th May 2020 and ends on Sunday 31st May 2020

All signed up players must be present in the AoE II India discord. This is the link to join the discord server.
2. Prize Pool
Tournament Prize Pool: INR 10,000
Distribution:
● Winner: 50% (INR 5000)
● Runner up: 25% (INR 2500)
● 3rd/4th place: 12.5% (INR 1250 each)
3. Contact

Alternatively, players may also post a message on the official AOE II India WhatsApp group, but contacting admins directly is advised.
4. Seedings
Players will be seeded based on their AoE2: DE 1v1 ratings. Admins may also consult experienced external people to refine the seedings.
5. Scheduling
Players may schedule their games to be played any time before the deadline. Players may reach out to each other using their provided contact details and agree on a time to play the games and let the admins know at least a day before the deadline of the round. Unwillingness to schedule may result in disqualification and ban from further tournaments.
6. Round-Specific Settings
A. Upto Round of 16: Best of 1, Arabia. Hidden free civ pick. (To be completed by Sunday, 17th May).
B. Round of 8: Best of 3 (To be completed by Sunday 24th May)
G1: Arabia
G2: Home map of G1 loser
G3: Home map of G1 winner
Both players get 2 global bans for civilizations each. A global ban implies that neither player can use the civilization throughout the series. Players may pick any civilization that is not globally banned, but may not repeat a civilization. Players will announce their distinct home maps in the order AB and ban civilizations globally in the order ABBA before game 1.
A = Higher Seed

C. Semi Final: Best of 5 (To be completed by Friday 29th May).

7. Lobby Settings
● The lobby must be hosted privately and game ID be given to the streamers only before launching the game
● Hidden civilizations must be enabled
● The host must find an appropriate server for both the players
● Spectating must be enabled and a spectator delay of minimum one minute has to be set. A higher spectator delay should be set if either player asks for it
● The lobby must have an appropriate password set up to prevent anyone else from joining, and the password should be passed on to the admin that is present during the games
● Only the admins may spectate the games

8. General Rules
● The tournament will be played on the latest Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition patch
● Players must go through the handbook and make sure they understand the rules and settings, and if not, seek clarifications from tournament admins
● The map and civilization draft will be done in a dedicated channel in the AoE II India discord under the supervision of an admin
● Players get one restart every series and it must be called before the 4 minute mark. Players may type “re” in the game chat and wait for their opponent to respond “ok” before resigning
● Admin restart may be called for bugged resources. A resource is bugged if less than 50% of the tiles of the resource cluster are accessible to gather from
● All the participants, streamers and admins must respect each other, bad behaviour and insults will not be tolerated
● Players may not share accounts and/or change their nicknames during the course of the tournament
● Players are allowed to use any graphic mods available in the official mod workshop
● Cheating, hacking or communication during the games in any form will not be tolerated, and will lead to disqualification
● Players must check their provided contacts constantly for any updates regarding the tournament or attempts to schedule from their opponents
● Players must keep the results of their games confidential until the games have been made publicly available, and failure to do so will result in 50% deduction in their prize money and potential disqualification
● It is the players’ responsibility to ensure that there is no one but the admin spectating the game. For this purpose, the game ID of the game must be provided only, and only to the admins before launching the game
● New rules may be added and existing rules may be modified before or during the course of the tournament
● Admins will determine the appropriate penalty for rule-breaking and their decision is final and binding
9. Streaming
● The games up to the quarterfinals are free for anyone to cast. The games will be streamed on 21st and 22nd of May as recorded games and the schedule will be posted accordingly, and interested streamers may contact the admins as soon as possible
● Semifinals and the grand final will be casted exclusively on the AORUS Facebook/YouTube channels either live or as recorded games. The schedule will be posted accordingly
