Last year Tournaments were completely wild, even without DMWC we had 5 different S-Tier-Tournament-Winners (Viper, Hera, Tatoh, Vinchester and Yo) and 3 more who made Runner-Up (Villese, Liereyy and Daut).
Don't think this will be the era of a specific player which is great for the game...
This is actually funny.
Remember ~9 months ago, so many people were like "why we have no big Tournaments anymore", "AoE2 is dead", "why so much money for AoE4 instead", "prizepool going heavily down", "no tournaments announced" yara yara.
At that time A-Tier Tournaments with smaller Prizepools...
And where do you draw the line?
First it was "let the players vote", then it was "let the players vote, but not the 9xx players", now it's "let the players vote, but not the 18xx players", honestly, where do you draw the line? Or do you want to exclude Players untill you get the result you want...
Not sure this is comparable, didn't we already have BF Tournaments with no exploration in the past?
This is just smth. new and we don't rly know yet how it will affect the game for the better/worse, making the communication easier sounds like a good thing to me.
Personally I would have...
Imo TG-Tournaments are currently not that interesting to watch (except on a few Maps) so any change is welcome I guess.
People are so quick to judge, why not have a Tournament with it and see whether it's enjoyable or not, we had portuguese tg-bonus before anyway.
Wouldn't be too surprised if...
I liked the Tournament, but it didn't realy feel special to me.
Don't even know why, maybe it's because we just had RBWL, or maybe it's because of some "weird" aspects of the Tournament like the Organizers and the decision to not have open streaming.
Think if people cared a bit less about Nilis...
Read again, my question was not about whether Feedback/Criticism is justified, I was just curious why this doesn't happen in a more mature way (and with that I obviously don't mean the viewers, but the Players/Organizers).
Of course you can say "hey but it worked", did it?
What about the other...
Sure, but you realize people can voice criticism without making it sound like the Organizer is the embodiment of evil for daring to organize a 100k LAN Tournament not exactly the way people want to, right?
Wasn't on aoezone for some time and now I remember why, 100k LAN Tournament get's announced and the thread is already filled with People complaining and feeling disappointed.
How dare they host a Tournament in the game we like and even a 100k LAN Tournament on top of that!
I'm rly just curious...
He hosted 2 out of the 8 S-Tier Tournaments this year and one is even named after him and we already know the Tournament will come back next year, so pretty hard to forget him imo.
I would daut that.
It wouldn't surprise me if Nili is planning NAC since a long time (maybe a combination of both NAC/N4C like RBWL) but I guess there would be a longer time between the Announcement and the Tournament itself and also a way longer period of time between RBWL and that.
And if he...
I think if they "just" make it a bit longer instead with some more days of gameplay it's completely fine to have 2(3) different games, like RBW5 had 6 days of gameplay, RBW Legacy had only 4 days of aoe2 gameplay.
Or if you want to shorten the timeframe you should maybe also decrease the...
But that's the thing, even with those 2 "gone" and not the typical dreamfinal of viper-lierey and it happening on saturday, RBW had such great numbers.
I think they will/have to take that into consideration and with those things in hindsight the numbers are rly great.
Only wonder how...
This is rly huge, Tatoh finaly with a 1vs1 S-Tier Tournament win and then it's the biggest one on top of that.
Also RBW-Series now with 6 Tournaments and 5 different winners overall and Jordan being so close of winning against Tatoh in Ro8 leading 2-0, this Tournament series rly has a lot of...
From the first announcement of RBW Legacy I hoped for AoM DE.
Even more hyped for that then I ever was for AoE2 DE / AoE4, rly hope they learn from all the mistakes they made there.
