I think point 1 is a totally fair decision. It was doing that, or people training with team partners that eventually would become a direct opponent in the bracket within a round, which would have been a disaster since both players would have know each other strategies.
Also funny thing is this...

Hidden Cup is getting his own exclusive patch to fix the pathfinding
I mean the pathing cant get any worse than it is right now, but is a good idea to test a patch in the main event of a tournament? sounds risky to me
Im happy that after 10 years since HD launch, finally the cost of faith was adressed. The most useless tech in the whole game. And even with the cost change, i still think it will be rare to see it on use outside some niche situations in team games.
Now we only have to fix the cost of a tech...
I couldnt agree more with this post. AOEZone at this point is 90% 10-15 toxic people that represent literally nobody in the community, bashing and bitching about content creators, devs and the playerbase like their opinion matters at all to anyone. And the worst part is that rather than ignore...
The reason is that AOE1 DE was made as nothing but a test on how to make a DE version of the AOE games. People forget that the game was a microsoft store exclusive for like an entire year and a half, and the game flopped terribly because of that. By the time it came on steam, forgotten empires...
I just watched the interview. Absolute wholesome video. Spirit really looks like a cool guy to hang out. I have always found fascinating how he managed to get the top place in AOE2 youtube content, despite doing the total opposite of everyone else was doing at the time about the game, and how...
well this social experiment now has raised never before asked questions about the game:
how long is the max time an AOE2 game can be running before crashing? does rec files get corrupted after X time has passed in game? what is the max file size for a rec file on AOE2? if the game crashes, will...
SotL just made a preview of the patch... and this is the first time i have seen him being so inclement to the dev team about how slow the bug fixes have come

Oh, didnt knew that. Maybe you are right, so i decided to do other test. I went to AOE2.net to check how many people had "last match ended" in the 1vs1 DM ladder and the 1vs1 RM ladder in the last 7 days. It turns out, 588 players had at least one game in the DM ladder in the last week in...
To be fair i read the blog and it clearly states that this is a TEST. They will add EW over DM to see if it gets more players getting matches.
I understand that DM has a historical value in the multiplayer of the game. But at the end of the day devs are told by the "money guy" to do things in...
Regarding the top 16 players theme, a interesting question would be if we need standard qualification rules for A and S tournaments, because in the last year i have felt that every caster has his own set of rules to choose who goes in the main events, and who plays qualifiers. For example...
