I was thinking about this too, I know that alot of the core fans of the series don't like the idea though.
The thing is that skins don't only bring in money, they also motivate alot of players to keep on grinding and keep the game alive. It's crazy to me how regularly some of my friends spend...
Community is not big enough to do that. It would take forever to find matches at some level if everyone is just selecting one map.
I think the 1v1 map pool is really good now.
It is possible that I am also mixing up elements from different RPGs here, I played alot of those maps.
I looked at videos of the Diablo 2 RPG, but I don't think it's the one. I remember starting in a base in the middle of the map.
Diablo 2 RPG looks familiar, but I can't remember playing a Map...
Trying to revive this.
Are there any RPG maps out for DE yet? I loved playing those on MSN zone, but I can't remember what they were called.
I remember one where you started out as militia, then could choose a bow or horse and thus become an archer/scout (or choose to remain infantry). The more...
I don't think Catas would be op, they are in a bad state right now.
I agree, that in theory, the Cata is a unit that has no hard counter. It takes less anti cav damage, it deals bonus damage to infantry, it has trample damage and it would perform better vs archers too if it had more pierce...
How is going random balanced? We would see a higher variety of civs and it's more fun, but there is a chance that the teams are completely unbalanced civ wise.
And I just don't get this. They introduced the dear always inside walls in the patch before this one and it was working perfectly fine. Only in this patch the map gen on arena was ****ed again. Why didn't they just roll this one back after realizing that they can't fix all the issues in a proper...
By power creep you are refering to the power of bonuses increasing alot over the past years with the introduction or modifications of new civs, techs and civ bonuses?
So in your opinion this was the wrong way of adding new content to the game, but don't you think it is too late now to reverse...
Archers are strong but you are overstating it a little. There is no way you lose with equal amount of knights against xbow, unless you are stuck at a choke point. Of course +2 armor is needed asap.
And mangos do still counter them, its basically a prediction game. And the more siege you have...
I think reworking Byzantines a bit is a good idea. They are supposed to be a versatile civ, but what are your options really?
In 1v1 you can either go full yolo trash, which I personally don't really like, or go archers and use the cheap imp to push with arbalest asap.
In teamgames I don't...
Exactly. If we had like 5-6 equally playable civs on each map, it would be fine. I also think on Arena, although quite different style than arabia, there are alot of different civs & strategies you can go for. It's not impossible, just get rid of all the shitty hybrid and mass hunt maps
Random only button makes no sense. It would have to be implemented in a way that the player base is not split anymore and the que doens't take longer. So I kinda like that *prio random* option the most.
But I think you can win on most levels even with the worse civ, depending on how bad it is...
