or maybe make the mappool optional for matchmaking since half the players would prefer arabia only on most days?DE has a matchmaking with a mappool. deal with it
lol, what if you meet someone who has the same attitude for arena, and you are similar rating?I've never been in a queue longer than 9 minutes in 1300 games, rarely above 6 mins really, so maybe it's something on your end
I alt-f4 because I only want to play Arabia.. what's so wrong with that? especially when I only have time for a few games
It takes me 2-3 min to restart the game while the other player is still in queue and will most likely find a game by the time i ll requeue
well if I refuse to play land nomad and BF, but can only ban one, I'm just gonna quit if I get either
Play unranked, its just that simple.Squeak is not wrong and is not the bad guy here.
Most people here don't see the actual problem.
The issue is that DE devs are FORCING maps on players by only allowing banning a few and not allowing to pick the maps you want to play on. Most players play this game for fun and definition of fun varies. For some it's trying as many civs and maps as they can without caring much for strat and preparation. For some the preference is limited.
Just allow players to pick the map(s) they want to queue for in a TG. It's that simple a solution.

I don't play tgs and you are not my rating so relaxwhat you say there is just not true. everytime someone alt f4 i get matchmaking error 4 and need to restart the queue. if i had to wait 6 minutes before (that is about the time i have to wait for TGs if i do not queue up with friends) there is a big chance i run into you again, might not get arabia again, will wait 6 more minutes and so on.
the point is, that a lot of us have to wait 15 or more in average to get a game going, just because there are too many egoistic people around that do not understand how a mappool and ban/prefer maps work. and to make the game more enjoyable for the majority of people, people like you need to be punished, so that the behavior will not that common anymore.
Squeak is not wrong and is not the bad guy here.

he will play arena and I will play arabia because that's fun for everyonelol, what if you meet someone who has the same attitude for arena, and you are similar rating?
Everyone here understands it perfectly, we all know why you do it. We know you don't do it to annoy other players per se, you just don't mind grieving them so you have it your way.Squeak is not wrong and is not the bad guy here.

I don't do this alt-f4 thing, but you guys are still wrong on this one. You are not entitled to someone else's time. If those players do not wish to play certain maps, you can't demand they play them to satisfy you.
I'm not saying I'm not playing it at all, what I'm saying is if I don't wanna play it I'll just quit.Plot twist: I did play with Squeak on LN TG yday... seems like has a change of heart due to the arguments on this thread. So all that criticism does work..
but if players are that picky, and will not accept to play different maps, there are other places to do so: lobby browser, voobly, hd.... so if they want to use the matchmaking people gotta accept the rules.
You really should consider seeing a doctor to check how many brain cells there are left in you.I'm not saying I'm not playing it at all, what I'm saying is if I don't wanna play it I'll just quit.
But you don't realize that it's you who doesn't like the system not us, maybe you should just host your own lobby in the lobby browser or go back to voobly. It's not me who's moaning about it being bad, I know it is, but I do what I can to fit my needs. I don't want a change, you do, so if it doesn't fit yours do something else that does. You won't change people, not a single person will change his opinion and not alt+F4 seeing this post, not me at least. And I still **** on your backyard if I want to.
well if I refuse to play land nomad and BF, but can only ban one, I'm just gonna quit if I get either
don't blame me, blame the banning system
i'm not gonna play the maps I don't want to just because someone wants to, I leave that charity **** to someone else
It is true there is the problem you point out, but he is still wrong: making an active choice to hurt others.
so what's your point? You really should consider seeing a doctor to check how many brain cells there are left in you.
@MaSmOrRa yeah, and with who? Screenshot me a 4v4 lobby that has players similar to my rating, and I won't ever leave it.
Back in the MSN Zone days most people were playing unranked games in the unranked lobbies. By far.
If ELO is supposed to have any meaning at all (I know it doesn’t atm), the more maps you are forced to play the more accurate it will be.
Someone with a 3k rate who only plays Arena is undoubtedly less skilled than someone with a 3k rate who plays all the maps.
Want to stick to one map? Fine, absolutely no problem, play unranked.
