The arambai change is completly useless tho. Even if they cost 30 wood more they gonna be as OP as now. I dont understand why they arent changing the speed or attack further.
The arambai issue was debated quite a bit, it was split between making them cost food and drastically increase the wood cost. We opted for the latter to see if we can make them work while keeping the wood cost to set them apart from conqs. 30 wood increase is quite a lot, going from 40 to 70 will make it much harder to mass them and booming at the same time. The arambai change is completly useless tho. Even if they cost 30 wood more they gonna be as OP as now. I dont understand why they arent changing the speed or attack further.
where are these balance changes u guys are talking about...?
well this thread was created 3 weeks ago, why would it be at the top when it was posted today?
Forcing the changes in a competitive varied settings seems to be an excellent idea to actually measure how the balance improves or not! (it's way better than ranting on supposedly effects that no one will ever see)No, the players themselves will be testing the changes by playing in the tournament. Anyone else who plays them is just for their own enjoyment
I think these posts prove that a lot of people will miss the balance changes if they're not announced more clearly.
Every team got notification to the changes, honestly its not a priority todebate if the change are good or not we will see it out during tournament games and then can have a real idea of it. After practical opinion might change but just from reading it, i felt most changes had sense, at least i wasnt surprised too much by any of them. And I hope that the teams pay close attention to the thread and/or have been informed by robo/Zak in a different way, depending on what they agreed
I think you need to look again.Just like how the switch arena to arina was made on the opinion of a few players based on their perception of what seemed the best strategy on one tournament. According to those players, trush was both the most popular and most effective strategy in that tournament. A statement with no statistical backing, which I have checked and found to be contradictory to this statement.
Sure.I think you need to look again.
Would not be fun seeing losses due to ridiculous inequality of resources. There is already the silly issue of back bases being huge or nonexistent and swinging games. For some reason I still like the map though. The ECL_Arena appeared to be based on the NC17 version, for which the main changes were removing the often unfair extra golds/stones (and forage bushes), and increasing the size of all the secondary and tertiary gold/stone piles from four to five tiles. It also made other changes - including changing the min/max distances of resources. ECL_Arina, however, appears to be based on 'vanilla' Arena.
Just pointing this out
Forget timo you debating about meta of your map, that you and majority of arina experts and viper agreed on, with a viewer, who do not play arena (?) or do not play at all (?), nor in competitive level, it’s like his 10th post against it. Here you have to deal with someone who like watching stream with a lot of towers and stuff, I explained him several time already why wall in arena has to be 1800hp and not 900, because trush become OP if 900 and it completely change the gameplay of a map supposed to be played a certain way.
Vinch (6th)
Ro64 vs Dobbs: Trushes both games 2-0
Ro32 vs Modri: Trushes all games 3-1
Ro16 vs ClassicPro: Trushes all games 3-0
SF vs Viper: Trushes 3 games 1-2 (first to take game off Viper, other 2 games, Viper had Viper map)
LB vs TaToH: BOTH PLAYERS trush 3 games 2-1 TaToH
TaToH (2nd)
Ro32 vs Pete_martell: Castle age trush as korea 1-0
LB vs Kief: Korean castle age trush + 2 feudal trush. Only game he doesnt trush, he loses.
LB Final vs St4rk: 2 Games Tatoh trushes and stark doesnt, tatoh wins
Game st4rk trushes and tatoh doesnt, st4rk wins
Rubenstock
Ro32 vs EDIE: Trushes 3 games, wins exchange 2-1
Ro16 vs CL: wins the 1 game he trushes
LB vs DraCoNT: loses the 1 game he trushed (Dracont 2 back stone)
vs Keif
Lyx wins the 1 game he trushes
ACCM wins the 1 game he trushes
Melkor ties 1-1 (game he trushes his map is so bad he lose 99% of games anyway)
St4rk (3rd)
Ro32 vs Stefan: Trushes 3 games, wins all 3
-> overlap with the other players
I have no doubt other players trushed in the tourney vs higher rated/skilled players and lost or higher skilled players trushed lower and won (which is why for example, I didn't include my loss vs TaToH or CL above). On top of that. Looking at the maps of the games that were played above, I can't remember any game where the defender of the trush won without back stone. (Not gonna claim there wasn't any)
