Battle Royale was introduced as a separate game mode where the map slowly disintegrates/destroys units buildings outside the edge. This was a neat/nuanced map that necessitated knowing your civ/having a good civ. I would like to see one without any gaia units. Would love to see a map script of a much slower creeping in from the edge to center of the BR ring, but played on standard map settings. This would theoretically encourage more aggressive play, as players will want to place buildings more forward to have more time before they are destroyed. It also encourages you to head forward and contain your opponent, as map control could be the difference between winning/death.
Arena/Arabia, and even water maps with water featured on the outer edges of the map all get a little bit of a strategy kick in such a scenario. Do you bother going for fish/water? Do you boom if it's likely you'll be unable to continue taking res safely as the abyss crawls forward?
Something different I haven't seen yet.
I'm assuming the map triggers could be replicated on a standard map but that's just me talking out of my butt.
