To be fair, in the AoE2 section it's mentioned that anything that is in the game is allowed, while for previous AoE4 events they already had a rule banning exploits (but didn't specify which ones)Unlike AoE 1 and 2, AoE4 rule section for RBW:Legacy has examples of what are exploits: Palisade scanning. Coincidence?
That aoe2 rule is only for laming though. Exploits are still forbiddenTo be fair, in the AoE2 section it's mentioned that anything that is in the game is allowed, while for previous AoE4 events they already had a rule banning exploits (but didn't specify which ones)
I actually asked around for any present exploits in Age of Empires II that I could have forgotten about, as I wanted to create a similar infobox with examples, but everything that came up was things that were patched out already or things that we consider features after many years.
If you can think of any exploits that need to be clarified, I'm all ears.
Bee is clearly a top 10 player - but he hit #1 on ladder when most top players are playing on the PUP. This doesn't disprove he is a top 10 player (which he is), but it also doesn't prove he is top #1-#3 eitherBee's statement after reaching #1 on ladder: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HD322wQ4pUo
Best part, addressing beasty and demuslim directly: "while justifying my disqualification you were claiming that I'm not capable of playing ladder on a high level and that I'm practicing with low level teammates...now when it's proven that you were completely wrong, rather than stopping the drama you are trying to continue it by searching for new arguments why in your opinion I'm a cheater and a terrible person. This can go on and on forever, and I can prove you wrong as many times as needed."
He never set out to prove he was the best player in the world. He set out to prove that the accusations made against him by his direct competition, like that he sucked on ladder, were nonsense, which they seem to be.Bee is clearly a top 10 player - but he hit #1 on ladder when most top players are playing on the PUP. This doesn't disprove he is a top 10 player (which he is), but it also doesn't prove he is top #1-#3 either
Palisade scanning is arguably not even a bug since it existed in the game since release and obviously existed in other games in the franchise. If it is such an egregious crime that warrants disqualification, it should be listed specifically in the rules. If he exploited bugs in the game, he deserved the tourney disqualification. Move on.
He addressed it in this interview. People jumped on this answer as an admission of palisade scanning but that's not exactly what he says in my opinion. But between his poor english and less than direct questions it wasn't a wholly satisfactory answer.Did he ever end up telling about how he didn't palisade scan or map hack though?
The bigger question is whether palisade scanning was even known to be banned. It was a well-known and "semi-legitimate" bug in AoE2 for years and years, and used by almost every high-level pro.I guess it's down to who you trust more. Bee, or fellow competitors / red bull. Given that red bull put lierrey's flag as Peru , I am starting to trust Bee more. Did he ever end up telling about how he didn't palisade scan or map hack though? The last statement of his I saw just says things like he's heartbroken and he is not a cheater, which is kinda general.
you need contact admin is you are unsure about if something is exploit. without that you can be considered intentionally abusing exploits and violating rules. It's impossible to list all exploits since they may not be known to admins. and otherwise player could get away with blatant abuse because no one knew about exploit beforewho is to know which ones are banned or not if they aren't at least listed out somewhere
I dare to an admin ban Viper for using palisade scanning...Glad he got to No. 1, does not change that it is certain he broke tourney rules with palisade scanning, but it certainly counters that he can not play ladder against high level players.
Please, don't admix any political statements to this discussion. We are here to discuss the situation about Bee and RBW, you defend the rule of fair play and in this I fully agree with your position. Do the accused player's nationality matters?Edit: On the other hand I can't believe I am defending a Russian in current conjuncture but fair play to lad, he didn't lose anything though, he would probably not get a visa anyway.
I dont know whether it was added before or after the disqualification, but at least now it is specifically written in the rules.Palisade scanning is arguably not even a bug since it existed in the game since release and obviously existed in other games in the franchise. If it is such an egregious crime that warrants disqualification, it should be listed specifically in the rules.
yes.Is this something normal that tournament hosts from an unrelated tournament can ban a player when the actual tournament hosts don't think there is any wrong doing?
