Maps​

The official selection of maps used for the entirety of the event. The map pack can be acquired by subscribing to the map mod using this link or by searching for “Wandering Warriors” in the in-game mod workshop.
All players are required to download the map pack.

• Boundary Brawl
• Compass
• Golden Hill
• Graupel
• Houseboat
• Inundation
• Mired
• Nomad

Updates & Changelog​

Nomad​

• The landmass may now only be landlocked on one side of the map.
• There's now a significant chance of generating a pond somewhere on the landmass.
  • This pond may sometimes merge with the outside ocean.

Mired​

• Players now spawn with enough resources to construct a town centre.

Compass​

• The northern peninsula now holds cows instead of sheep.
• The eastern peninsula now has larger forage bushes.
• The western peninsula now contains larger deer patches.
• For the sake of clarification, the southern peninsula still holds elephants instead of boars.

Sorry, the plan was to release it with the announcement, but the holidays are a busy time. We'll get it out as soon as possible.

So you had the announcement prewritten that way and forgot to update it to reflect that change in plans before you posted it? I would think a forgiveable mistake at this time of year.

Does this make chrazini the good guy? And there I was thinking he set off mount Vesuvius because he liked realistic cast statues and wanted some new ones for his garden

@Chrazini As it's only 1 week until round 1 starts, do any of those map versions have significant changes compared to already released versions?
I assume they all are improved, but I wonder if looking at or training on current versions would be useful if the release is a bit delayed.

The maps have just been released.
Please note that they may receive small updates with minor polishes in the coming days. Feel free to voice any feedback you may have.
The maps are not significantly different than the versions you've seen earlier, except the Nomad version that has a chance to spawn fairly differently.

I guess it's still in the progress as I didn't find any info regarding, how will the maps be selected for each round? Like Nomad, HM, HM, set map + HM for each series, etc. Thanks.

Mired does not give nomad-type starting res. The other ones do, as far as I noticed.

A few observations:

The south side of Compass is notably richer in resources than the other sides (elephants instead of boars), so it might be more tempting to go there early.

Shallows on Inundation are not very consistent - sometimes one side of the central island just doesn't have a connection to the outer ring, so players who spawn on that side have to walk longer to find a good TC location.

Are these intended?

This has been clarified in the rules and settings.

Mired does not give nomad-type starting res. The other ones do, as far as I noticed.

This has been fixed in a minor update. I'll update the changelog above later as we may have potential changes for Nomad incoming as well.

Are these intended?

The elephants are indeed intended. We may see players prioritising this island. Other small changes are coming to this map later today, however, in an attempt to equalise the lands slightly.

Inundation does have variance in the shallows, but I have yet to see a generation where it could impact the game negatively. If you find a generation where one player has an unreasonable distance to the outside, please do let me know.
