I think the Norwegians have at least some contact to other Norwegian players as well
Yeah, MbL can probably get another player not listed there to join, he's quite decent actually, called TheViper
PS. Can Modri team with Daut?

exactly. In a 1v1 tournament 90% of the chances for the title is spread beetween Viper, Yo, Hera and Liereyy and other 10% for all others. There aren't enough competitive players in 1v1 tournaments either, but we do a lot of those regardless.
In a tournament as big as NC but for 1v1 you can have maybe 4 serious contenders for #1, nobody complains.
While thats definitely true, the reason we have those four serious contenders is, that they are the best. With a nations cup the reason is because noone else has four decent players in the same country. There aren't enough competitive players in 1v1 tournaments either, but we do a lot of those regardless.

Interesting idea, though if you go for stuff like slavic or norse languages every language group allowed needs to be clearly defined, otherwise we can just go with indo germanic and f1re can team with dragonstarJokes aside, after a clan 4v4 I would love to see a 'Language Cup' over a Nations Cup.
I.e. Would Chinese, Suomi, Viet and Portuguese (Brazil) teams beat:
DE peaks averaged for the 8 teams above would fall within 50 Elo (2498-2449)!
- English (Hera, Slam, Daniel, Bling/Hallis/Chris)
- Spanish (Tatoh, Nicov, Capoch, Lan/Heart)
- Slavic (Daut, Vinch, Barles, Modri/Classicpro/Dracken/Dark/repard)
- German (Liereyy, Jordan, Running, Stefan/Nili)?
Could a Scandinavian team (Viper, MbL, Ganji & Kongen/Kellar etc., avg. 2402) make the top 8?
i have to agree and disagree.Improve ladder, performance, and everything related with the TGs in the game and then maybe a 4v4 event would make sense.
Also a lot people would not play since they don’t have team and honestly 80-90% of the games would be one sided since only few teams can really put a competitive 4v4 team.
I loved nations cup back in the days, casted them all and got a lot hype but now for me sadly the situation is different.
I would add Viper as well, who as far as I remember, didn't compete in the last Nations Cup.if not for DauT there wouldnt be anyone whining
Well, if you like to see these kind of teams formed...

Sure, you can make the argument that most countries teams will actually be quite bad, because there are very few countries with multiple people in the top 100, but then again what fun is it to watch how DauT teams up with some 1300 players? And how much fun is it for the players to play such an event.
I think the Norwegians have at least some contact to other Norwegian players as well, but i don't know how much this is the case for other nations. Playing with someone way below your skill level, that you don't have any relation too/had no prior contact probably isn't exactly a great experience.
If we want to see a 4v4 tournament I don't think the limitation of a nation's cup should be put onto the players, to me it just feels like an arbitrary exclusion of players based on the country they are born/live in and again will probably lead to a lot of pointless drama about eligibility to participate in certain teams.
Or make a war of continentsJokes aside, after a clan 4v4 I would love to see a 'Language Cup' over a Nations Cup.

Just make it 3v3, people who want to have fun can still have fun, while the number of contending teams would probably get doubled.
EDIT: Wasnt Nations Cup 2017 a 3v3 originally? It just turned back to 4v4 as Lyx became available.
Surely there is some historical polity that could be resurrected for the purpose of getting those two on the same team. Not a fan of nations cup because the lack of inclusion of Daut/Lierrey, among others, who are personally my favorite players (and big draws overall).
The top 4 in 2015 is the same as 2021 !!! Just missing mentalist and canada is OPEasy Canada win now that I have a good support team.
2nd place fight should be interesting
And maybe hearttt, ganji, jonslow or some other high level players can Multinational force, cause i haven't heard another high level player from peru, sweden or isreal.China,Vietnam,Finland and Brazil are the strongest in this past few years, now Russia has Vinchester,
repard, dark and maybe classicpro,at least three of them might have the world's top 32 levels, maybe dark hasn't got good grades yet,but he absolutely has a bright future.
Also Italy has Vodka , kamigawa and the potential , young Rise , Germany has Jordan and a few top Arena players.
France,Chile,Cz,Poland and Taiwan also has two many 2000+ or 2100+ players.
I expect to see a S-Tier 4vs4 or 3vs3 country compitation like SY CUP in the 2015 or 2017, cause many EUROPE countries have made great progress in the past few years, and compared with previous years,,we know more about “mysterious” players with around 2000 or 2100 points .
Of Course,I think Project-Belgium can represent Netherland and Classicpro can represent Russia to take part in this compitation.
This is the list of countries I am looking forward to participating in the competition:
Europe:Finland,Norway,Russia,poland,CZ,slovak,Austria,turkey,France,Germany,Spain,Italy,Netherland,England,yogoslavia(Daut,Modri)and Romania
Asia:China,Vietnam,taiwan,India or Japan
North American:Canada,the USA,Mexico
South American:Brazil,Argentina,Chile
