Why replace interviewers with a pretty face with no game knowledge?

Interviews were fine, certainly preferable to the tedious "take me through everything that happened in each of the games" approach that some casters seem to prefer.

Also, implying that she was only there for the titillation of male viewers (hired to be "a pretty face") is a bit gross.

That moment was dying for a MembTv massive emotional moment interview, sad the chance was missd, no one gives emotion from players like memb caan give sad we didnt get it here, so happy for mbl

Memb or Dave should be interviewing winners. People who can get in sync with the emotions of the players after winning Quarterfinals and beyond

Maybe they wanted to go for male-female combo but the female could have been from the AOE community. We have some very good female players in the community.

But after watching this massive mbl - hera series I'm so thrilled to go into the interview and get a bit into mbls thoughts/feelings/processes and then... Nothing

Just this awkward congratulations and the one remark about the games regarding how hera always had more eco.. I felt like I was reading a horoscope

I have nothing against the girl interviewer, this isn't gender related, I just wonder why isn't someone with game knowledge interviewing? There are female personalities with a lot of game knowledge if you want to balance the gender thing

Hopefully tomorrow we can get good interviewers because, for me, it's just the cherry on top of the cake, after an amazing series to be able to pick on the players brain

For more in-depth interviews it would probably be necessary to give the players at least 10-15 minutes to come down and collect their thoughts.

If you just want to get a fresh impression immediately after the game it doesn't really matter who's the one asking "how are you feeling now?".

Winner interviews, especially after a victory like that, should be 5% max about the games. It's more about feelings, history (of the player, the rivalry, their tourney career, etc.), and what it means to them.

In tennis you have former legends do on court interviews of winners (so they don't really lack "game knowledge") and they never ask a single question about the "game".

You are right, she was certainly not only hired for the male viewers, but also for the players' excitement.

I have been told by a pretty confident source that one of the female villagers inpersonations isn't even into gaming, to the point she had no idea about AOE II till two days ago. Even tho today is a really charismatic red villager, redbull should take note for the future hirings.

I didn't mind Brittani even though I felt that everyone else was doing a better job mostly because of familiarity with the game and the players.

Mostly because, on the other side: I always cringe when there's a HUGE moment, great comeback, amazing job overcoming adversity, the player is almost literally shaking... and then T90 or someone, before saying "Congrats!" or "How do you feel?" immediately jumps into: "So in game 1, when you were sending archers toward his wall..." and mechanically goes through the moments of each game.

Somewhere in between is perfect. For the most part, though, I must say that Riley was superb and riding that "in between."

I actually enjoyed the diversity of the interviewers. There is no need to dig with technical depth in every interview.

I also dislike the lack of knowledge from others raising recently. Riley guy, guanfranco, and so on. They do a decent job but their completely lack of knowledge and context is horrible
