Grunt.. but hes more of a PRO GAMER and not an aoc player in my opinion.. he won many huge tournoments for games when they first are realeased.... so id have to give it to Kkab.. tho halen may beat him in 1v1 ^_^

Aoc is differenced by stages, you can´t compare the playstyle used now with the one 10 years ago, I would definatelly put Halen, Koven and Grunt at the same scale as Daut and Chris, just because they were best during a long period of time.

If you think of best regarding playstyle, the current 3 best players would definatelly beat the 3 best players of 10 years ago if it was played by current level against that level, but again, you cannot compare it.

Well at that point, Jordan and Viper still weren't at the level of Daut and Daut was in shape. Chris made his own group for the tourney which stood no chance, and it was funny because they nearly beat Tyrant early on but after that Tyrant really improved in time for the final vs RVK. Had Chris been in RVK at that point it would have been an easy win for them I imagine but the way the tourney played out really worked in Tyrant's favour.

i thinked i was only one person in forum, who thinked if Chris will play for rvk in wcl, they will win vs tyrnant in final. Chris and Daut have something waht nobody have. Its not just experiance, they have some ani stress management in any finals. And yes i dont think Viper reach some another lvl. Just remember Chris, when using symbios nick, when he have 3 first nick in general, chris, sarian and later when nobody cant play even close hes lvl he make ilikemyrandom, and getting 3 placen in general, killing everobody everywhere. Daut same, many many times.
Viper is the best now, but turst me, it will be new c hampion in aoc, i dont say chris or daut again, but propably the new young boy.

Fayt lier rvk didn't let viper play those games, then viper left rvk and after jordan did, the lvl from jordan in tg has been exactly the same because he is a monster with his macro i think is the same for viper, those players got stronger in 1x1 but their macro skills and boom still the same than now.

Old school proved that with enough time they can win the current experts well they got paid for playing aoc almost as insane like viper does, wich explains the outcome.

wow, all the old memories come back to me when you talk about this stuff...

what we today call "going forward" on feudal, people used to call it "go kmkm" back then, which was basically going forward with 4 villagers a put a tower on some resources. Was KmKm actually a good player or we just remember him for the KmKm flush?

Just found this topic, giving it a shameless bump. The kmkm forward was pop 24 or 25 (not 100% sure) and 5 vills.

I do think at this point in time you could almost credit viper with the #3 spot. I have a hard time seeing him catching up to daut/chris just because the competition just isnt what it used to be.

Just take Arbalet cup 1 as an example, 512 players started that tournament if I am not mistaken, and all of them were 2k+ (or atleast 90% of them). The tournament is very memorable for me atleast as a Kaiser_Willhelm fanboy, one of the forgotten greats, in 2000 after the first WCG (where he finished 4th) he got the title "best non-asian player" and this was a time when aoe was dominated by korean and taiwanese players. Ferret told me that him and KW were top aok players going in to aoc and atleast kw was winning koven more than he was losing to him. At the time of the first arbalaet cup kw was allrdy in his decline, he had gotten "mousearm" and couldnt play as much but still managed to make it to the final 16 in this tournament, while using persians as opposed to 95% of the players in the tournament who were using huns (it was 1v1 arabia), to me that tournament cemented his legacy for me.
