Being able to ban 1, or 2 or 3 civs from the pool. So sick of playing vs meso every dumb ass game.
Run a competition or something for new maps once a month if you don't feel like making maps, for example say "we need a new open land map" and then people get 20 days to make a map and they pick one to integrate into the game.

I mean everyone would pick Chinese in 1v1s as they dont start with zero food, making it even worse than maps like valley / steppe / islands / nomad.This is a game about medieval history and they have a demonstrated concern for historical accuracy as it relates to that civ so I could think it could be worse?
Imo with the current balance maps with one or two completely dominant civs (Islands / Nomad / Land Madness) should not be included in the 1v1 map pool.
Arabia rn, its really different from Aoc walling its more easier now.
I always found Voobly being so elitist in this aspect, people noobs were forced to get good only at Arabia, because in RM people only play that map. And once you were kicked from NPL for having too many games you were absolutely screwed. And then these people ended playing 4vs4 BF for the rest of their lives.
(1) The balance has been improved a lot since AOCYes but they should fix the **** balance rather than banning iconic high skillcap maps like Islands and (hybrid) Nomad.

Besides, what are you even trying to say? If vikings are no longer strong on water, they might still be picked on other maps (eg. arabia / golden pit); but that will probably not be the case for italians.
