4, 6 and 7 are pretty clearly their top productions

I respectfully disagree, I think it's mainly a matter of taste which makes one prefer one FF to another

Almost all mainline games were pretty great

7 to me is much better than any of the others in terms of story and is my favourite overall, most of the others are just blah love stories/crystal stuff. I think 9 comes second just because the atmosphere and characters seems like the most final fantasy final fantasy experience but the story really goes off the deep end towards the end.

although I guess since I didn't specify that this was my opinion, I shouldn't have expected it to be understood as my opinion in a thread about personal opinion. *shrug*

regardless, there's a reason so many large scale polls like this often have some combination of those three at or near the top. they are quite good.

V, because the fanmade "Four Job Fiesta" format gives it probably the most replayability out of any FF by far. Replayability which is also helped by V having a relatively short clear time for an RPG (around 15 hours for players familiar with the game.)

V is a lot of fun, I can't count how many times I've played it. The advance dungeons are a good challenge too.

I read there was almost half a million votes, quite the reliable poll haha. I'm pleasantly surprised X is in first, if they made the poll 10 or 15 years ago, I doubt X would be first

The game's quite a grower. It's laced with cringe moments and weird jokes, makes it fun to revisit
