I was watching RBW2 today and I have a question.
On the corner of the screen is displayed this value%g information.
What is that about? I don't understand what it is or what is need for.

the second number should be in parentheses so it appears as Value (%G) @robo

I think I would quickly interpret that as saying the left value is the percentage of another value, which is not the case.

You would only if there was not a corresponding number in the column.

i think questions will be raised in both cases, which sadens the inventor of this beautiful stat immensely :cry:

I don't understand how there would be much ambiguity in the case where you have a header of "Arrmy Value (%G)" and column entries of something like 2000 (%50). It might be better to have the gold value also as a raw number rather than a percent because it is a little more intuitive for someone used to playing the game (instead of having to do math they just see that the player has 1000 gold in their army) but in either case the parentheses do much to visually distinguish the two points of data you are trying to present together.

The percentage is more important/interesting than total value in many cases though. Its supposed to give information about army quality and not cost (trash being weaker than gold heavy army, to make a 50k res trash army comparable to a 3k gold army or something like that). The cost is mainly handled by the total res, but i think there are ofc multiple viable options. Either way, thx for your feedback, we are still discussing how to handle this for actual captureage :smile:

That is true. I agree with presenting both a measure of total value and a measure of quality. I was just saying that as a viewer I would find 2000 (1000) preferable to 2000 (50%) because it is easier to read. Glad the feedback was helpful. Excited to see what it looks like for the next event.

I had this post in the back of my head for the past couple weeks. How about Food / Wood / Stone sell prices in that area instead?

The %g value doesn't mean much to newer players (monks / upgrades etc), and doesn't mean much to more experienced ones (since your unit comp graphic keeps us well informed).

But market prices are something that could sway a game & not a lot of casters have time to check.

We are considering completely different solutions to representing those stats as well, but i will be super mean here and not tell anything about them for now :devilish:
