I do understand and respect the decision that the world is excluding Russia in sport/music events etc, but attacking individual russians that can´t be blamed for the war is just discrimination tbh...

It's not about discriminating russian people, because we're against russians now. It's about making it as uncomfortable as possible to be russian while the war is going on. Because the russians themselves are in by far the best position to stop this war. But it's always way easier to just wait and do nothing and let others die - I'm german, I know our history and we've sadly shown how bad this can be.
By excluding Russians from everything we make it as hard as possible for them to just wait and do nothing and let others suffer. I think it's incredibly sad that we are in this situation and it's incredibly sad that russians are discriminated, but I still think it's a very good option, because the only other two options coming to my mind are waiting, doing nothing and letting people die or starting World War 3 - I guess I prefer doing what we're doing.

And by the way - in general I absolutely dislike cancel culture, but I think in this case it might actually be the best thing to do.

You as as a german should now best that sanctioning a nation into oblivion is a great idea. Thats why we only had one World War so far. Oh wait..........

Attacking the civilian population of Russia is not the way to go. Attack where it hurts Putin the most but attacking civilians will just make them more on Putin´s side because they are being mistreated...

What's your suggested solution?
It's always easy to say that certain options are bad, while not coming up with anything helpfull - especially in a case like this, when there's probably no good solution avaliable.
I'm not saying "this is amazing, I'm so happy about what we're doing". I'm just saying there's an idea behind it which goes deeper than just discriminating russian people and it might work.

What hurts Putin the most? I'd say noone in russia wanting to support his war.
If the russians would rather support the war than fighting for peace, once it get's uncomfortable for them, then there's not much we can do anyway.
I don't think there's an options, which is decent and doesn't include a certain amount of risk. But if there is, I'm happy to hear it from you :-)

imo we need to lift up russian sports / esports players and let their voices be heard. I see russian tennis athletes protesting for example. Most people I think are against war in every country, we need to make noise and drown out the minority of war mongers. War is how the powerless minority controls space and infrastructure by subjugating the population. Even if the athletes are pro-war then we get a global discussion where they get a different perspective that is not their direct propagandized media and they gain perspective. #nocensorship #nowar
