Apart from the rest I think it's just questionable to assume someone can (in general) only "classify" weaker players.
I would proly trust Nilis top 15 Ranking more then f.e a top 15 Ranking made by MbL.

Also smth which most seem to forget is that Nili didn't want to concentrate on casting anymore, so I guess it's understandable if he says he doesn't want to cast f.e RO32 Games, especially since he focuses on AoE4.
Still he could have obv. phrased it better without calling any specific names, especially since he always talks about respect on WTF-Streams.

And considering his team mates have recently "abandoned" AoE 4 I'd be very surprised if it's AoE 4...

Well then he better should make the announcement on one of his teammates streams, since I doubt the AoE4 Viewers on his stream care much about an aoe2 announcement.
It would be rly weird if he all of a sudden turns back to aoe2 with something big after leaving completely.
Apart from the GL-Charity Stream and casting the final KotD-Rounds and a bit of dodgeball with Dave his last "normal" aoe2 Stream was on the 30th October warmup for kotd qualifiers.

I obviously can't speak for himself, but the way I understood him, he was referring to Vivi and BacT as placeholder names for "non top 10" players. I don't think this was anything personal against those players specifically.

What I believe he meant was that he wasn't feeling like casting games with players outside the very top.

It's still comes off as very entitled. I think he's easily the best AOE2 caster around, but his biggest flaw is displaying that sense of entitlement from time to time.

When Nili is around and active within the Age2 community we’re all better off for it. He’s done a ton of good for this game over the years. I was critical of a comment he made and his seemingly dismissive attitude of AoE2 when AoE4 was first released but think it’s important to keep in perspective everything he’s done for our game and if he’s coming back to Age2 I think it’s great news.

I understand he loves this game but is he still playing some aoe2's games sometimes (perhaps offline ? perhaps smurf account ?) ? Does someone know if he's planning to participate at Aoe2's tournament ? Is he still in GL team for the team's tournament ?

part of it i think, is he was trying too hard since DE, without getting any results which kinda disgusted him from aoe2

if only he put his ego back in the drawer, lower his expectations only by a notch, and participate to A-B-C tier tournaments of his skill level, he could find success, even earn some #1 places.
And thanks to these victories, build his confidence and general good-natured character back.

instead of trying putting the cart before the horse which obviously doesn't work, unless you were born an absolute prodigy. you have to learn to walk before you run. trying to compete at 2k5 level in S-tier tournaments when you don't win consistantly 2k3-2k4 players is just asking to be sliced

AoE 4 has found its equilibrium it seems. If players come back to DE it won't be because of lack of players/viewers (prize polls?), but rather out of personal interest. That's good.
