Now that the main event is over (remember that the sand league is still going) I want to thank you all for the blast World Desert Championship was for me.
It was my first experience as admin for a tournament with a big budget behind, and full of pro players, and I enjoyed it a lot... and also suffered a little bit 11
The behind the scenes is always more messy that most people imagine; trying to help teams scheduling and helping caster gettings both the games and the rules is no joke. Plus that, you have to add all the "public relationships" task, and some unexpected-issues handling. As you may know by now, one of the semi finals was reescheduled and finally was determined by admin win. Due to reasons, I was the only admin at the time; handling the whole problem was a challenge. Giving AW is easy when is for an amateur tournament, but when it means taking away the chance to make 1500 us$ more from a team that have 2 of the best players in the world currently, well, that's something completely different. But it happened, and all in all, was a great experience for me since it gave me confidence in my admin skills and my capacities to handle this types of events.
Besides that, I really enjoyed the tournament. Being part of the organization but also watching it. It gave us lots of good games, great maps, and a new exciting format never seen before ( 3 1v1 counting as a single point in a 3v3 tournament)
I would like to thank a lot of people, and I hope not to forget anyone. First of all, the biggest thanks goes to @SeanT for sponsoring the tournament, and to @Huehuecoyotl22 for invite me to be admin. Then, all the wonderful mapmakers for their incredible job making the well-crafted maps @Henkdesupernerd @TheMadCADer Cebdos, and specially both @Chrazini and @Zetnus. those two guys helped me a lot in both Delirium Cup and Castle Gala, so Thanks guys. Thanks @NovaAoE for making the logo, videos for the maps, and for your general support aswell. thanks @LilTrouble__ for adding your charismatic voice to Nova's videos and thanks @DaisyChain for taking care of the sand league, as well as helping a lot in the whole admin process.
Last, but not least, I would like to thank 2 people who were not part of the staff, but had a really good attitude towars us. Thanks Mario @kakarotoF4 for reescheduling your Arabia invitational, in order to avoid both tournaments finals happening the same day. And Thanks @NachoAoE for doing exactly the same with your King of Americas 2. Having the support of the 2 biggest figures of latin american/spanish speaking community meant a lot for me, as an admin but also as a Latino
And of course, thanks to all the people that casted/promoted the event. And all the people who watched.
And finally, thanks to my beautiful some-day-to-be-wife, Lady Swan (a.k.a Walala) for making some images for the tournament. And for all the support
TL;DR a lots of thanks for everyone 11
