I think an All Arabia tournament (KOTD) is likely to be boring for a lot of people now. The map variety is just too much fun IMO

Think again. KOTD 5 can't come soon enough

Clearly the seeding was bad and they met before the semis Kappa

It's interesting that they were all destined to face each other.
Yo - Viper in the quarters, whoever won that would face Liereyy in the semis and the winner of that would face Hera in the final.

Edit: I'm not saying that the seeding was bad, just really thought it made things more entertaining by having what the other person in this thread called a "big 4" matchup in every round.
Props to Viper for making it through all rounds.

Well maybe for a lot, although I think competition would be harder in arabia so I would gladly watch it.

As for tournament it was a great idea and great tournament. Although for next edition I would suggest to think of moving Nomad into hybrid cathegory, felt like quite a few maps was playing out very similar, like fighting a bit for water, whoever loses trying to snipe fish and moves to land. And I think that impression sometimes came because Nomad map is in Nomad cathegory which makes sense and it made many great games, but in reality it's also hybrid map, everyone builds dock there right away. And maybe many will disagree, but I find many similarities even with Migration, which is even in water cathegory, sure Migration is more about water early, but from middle castle age in many games people didn't pay any attention to water and it was all about castles and imp timing in middle island.

And another maybe unpopular idea, but BF felt like quite bad and uncompetitive map, not sure if because players played that way, although often that tunnel is very small, for example in Viper vs Liereyy map, maybe Liereyy could have rushed, but as he said that distance to go through top is so far and is very small chance if Viper wouldn't have found it, if he managed to find that villager in scandinavia, he would have found villagers in BF 11. Basically making it about draft/civ and not really about gameplay. I don't know what Liereyy could do there. And I bet many will say, but that's a strategy to pick Britons and I can somewhat see that argument, but for me strats should have proper counters. Also that reminds me Bohemians, perhaps devs should do something about those houfnice as they seem too frustrating to play against, even Turks doesn't seem to do that good there. Well that's bit out of topic, but I think current patch/situation was very relevant of those many Bohemians vs Turks match ups.

I for one would welcome another KOTD. Arabia is still the most enjoyable map to watch in my opinion. This tournament had some nice shake ups, in particular Migration, Socotra and Border Dispute made for some fun games. That being said, I would rather watch 7 Arabias in a row than watch a BO7 that includes BF, Oasis and Arena in it. Just my 2 cents.

Definitely the best tournament in quite some time. I actually enjoyed this more than the latest Red Bull. The variety of maps was great to see. Series never became boring.

Hope we get 9-vill start in the ranked ladder as well. It should replace the standard 3-vill start. I would play more Aoe myself if they made the change, no doubt.

Map variety and 9 vil start was amazing, way better than I was expecting it to be. An all Arabia tournament does seem very boring now in comparison.

Best tournament I was able to be awarded with. Such a pleasure. Mr. Yo vs TheViper greatest set <3 pure AoE love for my eyes.
TheViper vs Hera - the first four games was near perfection playstil wise. It took a while until TheViper found his human form and started to make mistakes.
7/10 strategy master showed this tournament how high his AoE intelligence is.

Hera should have known better than to make fun of Viper for losing to a Persian Douche from Daut in the interview. He was lucky to get even a little mercy from the snek after that.
