First off, really looking forward to this :D

Just one thing I'm not sure about and would like to hear other peoples perspective on:
To decide the first map, Player A can decide which group they want to pick and then player B can decide which map they want to pick from that group.
I think in general this is pretty fair for a best of 5, but it doesn't really seem fair for a best of 3 or a best of 7.
For a best of 7 (or bo9), there's barely any advantage in being able to pick a group, as all groups need to get played anyway, you just have the advantage of forcing the map from that group to be played first.
And for a best of 3 (only applicable to round 2 and 3 from the qualification stage), it seems like quite a big advantage to pick your second best group as the deciding game.

Not really sure how to fix this though. I think for a best of 3 you could make player A select two groups and then let player B select a map from these two groups.
For a best of 7 you could maybe pick a group and then ban 1 of the maps in it, and then let player B choose which one of the remaining maps they want to pick. Not really sure if that is completely fair though.

I quite liked the "ban the map/categories until one left" other tournaments tried, so for a bo3, you could make it "pick-pick-ban-ban-ban-ban", leaving one category, and maybe another ban-ban for deciding which map in the cat gets played, though obviously that changes somewhat the "pick category, opponent picks map" style, might be still acceptable.

amazing format, dont know if can replace the traditional start. but is really good option and a really good option for a 1 time year tournament, like EW and RBW

9 vill start = good -> could be standard for RM to save 2-3 minutes of 'useless' dark age while still having 'meaningfull' dark age

map system = good -> more all-round players will do well, some arena clowns might also do OK

chaotic map option = not sure if I like this, very yolo

Some of the scripts need looked at ASAP. Saw a couple of times today Migration generating with landlocked ponds at the back of the starting island. This is complete BS and would be very cruel on anyone to lose a game let alone a set for something like that. I'm not sure what script file has been used, but the DE Migration has been having some problems for some time...

The occasional back ponds are a noted issue on Migration, but overall I've found DE's Migration script to be much more consistent than the one from the original game (where you could even have the mainland split into separate parts with a passage through the middle). Any other feedback about this version of the map?

And do you have feedback about other maps?

i really dont see the useless 2-3 minutes, its a good time to analyze civs, maps, posible strats.
for now i still prefer traditional start

IMO I don’t think the Bedouins is fantastic, pond/tree generations are funky with some less fish in others. 9 vill start though does make a difference and should be able to find a decent TC spot though I will admit. But a lot of the time milling a pond for only good access to 1 shore fish. I’m not saying go omega shore fish like some versions, but something a little better would be a bit more fair.

Note that Bedouins does give +100 Food to the Shore Fish so they have 300 each (unlike DE's African Clearing, which uses the standard 200 Food).

Great tourney concept, love the maps, the nine villie start and already we have had some great games.

Great casting by Memb, BUT and that's a bit BUT, please MEMB stop spoiling other games you are not currently casting.

Naturally you go mad when chat spoils a game you want to cast, but you are spoiling games some viewers may want to watch. I fully understand you want to keep viewers up to date, but just say I am going to spoil other game to give viewers a chance to mute and look away. I tried that through the Daut/Fire games, but you kept dropping the current situation on the Sitaux/Capoch game, which I would have liked to view.

Looking forward to next weekend.

I liked everything except that map where TheMax lost 4 boars in minute 1 and basically lost game there. I saw people arguing it "but it's in chaotic cathegory", well I don't know, for me this is more idiotic than chaotic when winner is decided within first 30 seconds. I can understand that is fun for people to watch and so on, but after all is a serious competitive tournament with a big prize pool. Not like I'm a huge fan or anything of TheMax, but it just feels bad to start a set like this... Honestly he did a great fight there knowing the circumstances.

P.S. please keep doing those small interviews with players, so far both Capoch and Miguel liked this 9vill start, curious what others will say, especially after a bit more experience in it.

Go check ending of Vod of Memb of yesterday, he showed whole spreadsheet with how points were given and will understand. Seeding of course matters a lot, however players like hera want to be top1/win tournaments, so not sure if he himself cares that much about seeding, If you want to get number 1 can't complain about seeding much. Knowing a bit of hera would say he is even more motivated if he feels he should be above. I think it matters more for top 16-10 players.

some people still don't get it; those points you round up to get the seeding are manually attributed so you get whatever seeding you want; if you don't understand, answer this: how come seed 3(vinchester) had to play in the qualifiers?

Every single player above Hera has reached at least one S tier tournament final this year, and Hera hasn't. Seeding looks totally fine.
