Voobly presents WE ARE THE WORLD: TOURNAMENT FOR CS/DM/RM

As it appears the news that a great number of tournaments are being held in the AoC world have travelled far and not to be outdone, Voobly have decided to hold one of their own in an effort to combine all game types RM/DM/CS into one. We Are The World: A Client Wide Voobly Tournament FOR CS/DM/RM seems quite regular at first sight, yet appearances can be deceptive and in this case they certainly are. [READMORELINKDOTS]

After taking a proper look at the rules we learn that this 2v2 event is going to take place on one day only (although there is a possibility of extending the tournament if necessary) and be played with one map: =V= Europe Random.scx. Whilst its filetype may discourage some RM experts, the Europe map in fact unfolds in a very similar way to standard RM maps – the only problem might turn out to be the fairness (or rather unfairness) caused by random positioning of the players, however since the map has been updated especially for this occasion so that all players can only be placed on mainland, the randomiser should not put anyone at a considerable disadvantage. Furthermore, there is going to be a time limit of 1 hour and 30 minutes so that the single elimination play-off may proceed smoothly. The winners will be awarded points (75 for the winner, 60 for 2nd place, 50 for 3rd and 40, 30, 25, 15, 10 for 4th - 8th place) as well as Gold and Silver Voobly Membership lasting 6 months (only for 1st to 3rd place).

To say that this tournament is far from the usual would be a rank understatement, then again its dissimilarity with the other ones might work to its advantage as long as the players consider it a new challenge.

The map will be an edited version of '=V= Europe Random.scx' with the island positions in Ireland and Scandinavia removed. This will provide each player with a spot that is connected via marsh or land to the rest of the map. The civilizations are still being debated however I encourage everyone to join the discussion on the Voobly forums.
