if u compared with vivi and yo's streaming, yo never be such toxic as vivi, maybe because yo is highly educated, and yo's university is really good. if the chat be toxic to vivi, vivi will toxic back but yo don't, and this kind of stuff just weave a tangle web for everyone. he need to change, and practice more. despite lyx god like performance in the 2v2 world cup, he will still receive lots toxic from the chat, it's Chinese streaming community, there's no solution to this, so he do need to change himself!

I think I got more details from Vivi's life than I wanted to know already (fight with jibatong*) and he's also free to do whatever he wants in his life, hopefully he'll have success and be happy as AoE IV player.

However, regarding KotD - what's Vivi's shape going to be? And if Vivi is underperforming which seems quite possible, then what's the point of having qualified player like this in the event? The thing is, none would be able to say a word if Vivi went through qualifier and got into top32 this way.

You probably misunderstood me. I was replying to the comments that blamed his parents for this (by setting a very high expectation and not allowing him to enjoy AoE). Of course I feel empathetic for Vivi. I was going to say that this happened not because of his parents, but because of the fact that 99.99% of AoE players can't make a living out of AoE. Imaging that he is a top 2 player of Dota in China, he would have been earning seven digits by now.

Farewell, Age of Empire 2

Here is me, Fat Dragon (Fei Long). My story with AoE begins in 2006 when I was in the last year of primary school, watching my cousin playing AoE. In a second I felt obsessed with this game. After that for about 6 years i dropped school, escaped from many other I-supposed-to-do stuffs, only to play the game in an internet cafe (p.s. some years ago, this was the most common place for many young Chinese guys who were addicted to game and didn't want their parents find out). Because of my behavior, my parents gradually stopped caring what i was doing. The same attitude came from the rest of my family, in the end i was not even allowed to come home, not to speak of having meal with them. I can still remember those many nights when i could only camped under a bridge or in an internet cafe. Needless to say, as a youth without income, I have to pick up food and water wherever I can find. Well, this must sound miserable to you, but guess who caused it? Myself! I don't blame this suffering on my parents, instead it's rather my lack of initiative in life and addiction to game.

"As a AoE top player, I was not even able to feed myself, what a joke!" I kept having this thought until 2012. As time passed, the relationship with my parents eased a bit and they arranged a money-making job for me. I started selling vegetables in a local market and once in a while i could even make few hundred yuan a day. This was again not an easy job since i had to wake up 3am and finished 8pm. However I did feel happier and could sometimes hang out with friends. This kind of routine lasted roughly for 2 years with only few hours sleep per day. Then by 2014, i saw Paladin streaming AoE online. It opened my eyes and appeared as a decent career. I mean I can play my favorite game and meanwhile make money out of it, why not? Therefore I found a part-time job at my cousin's fish camp, this gave me the opportunity to work half month and for the 2nd half I could focus on my game. My cousin also paid me 3k yuan per month and provided me a shelter and food. To me it’s good enough. Under this new situation I practiced hard to improve my AoE skill, soon I was playing line-up in SY Team B. Back then SY was the best Chinese team. The team manager also liked me probably because I was young and eager to win. Later in 2015, he set me as bench player for SY Team A. What happened next was I got a price of 5k yuan, without actually playing in that tournament. I laughed as a kid with that much money from a game tournament for the 1st time in my life. However during team practice, i often forgot to wall and even had a quarrel with Paladin on this topic. Thanks to this I received a nickname "Wall with Hole Dragon" (Wei Lou Long). I didn't like being criticized for that and decided to leave SY, "I don't give a ****" was hanging in my mind then. Today I felt that was nothing but an immature decision. Paladin was right, they were right. That kind of criticism was only meant to push me improving further, but i didn't take it.

By 2016, my game skill was further improved. Many people encouraged me to start a stream channel. They also claimed that I was already better than Paladin. This certainly gave me confidence, so i started with streaming. A nice guy called Boss Chao even sponsored camera and microphone for my streaming purpose. Besides gifts, he also shared his life experience with me, invited me to hang out and etc. He is still playing sometimes with Yo and Lyx in team games nowadays. He usually talks a lot and is such a nice guy. In 2016 he founded Team Chaoren (Team Superman) and awarded us very often. Soon the team tournament CM: TFS approached in the corner, organized by that team manager from SY. This time I represented Team Chaoren and was confident to claim a decent ranking. During the tournament, my Conquistador show impressed all fans and in the end we lost to SY but were happy enough to be the 4th position. SY beated TyRant in the grand final and this was definitely something to celebrate in the Chinese AoE community. Again I got a bonus of 5k and felt very satisfied as this was my first time as a lineup player in a S-tier tournament. In 2017, the same person organized SY National Cup 3 (also with Paladin's donation raised via his channel), this time I teamed up with Tim and our team is called TNC (China Frantic). In game 1 with Suomi, i had a hole in the wall and forgot to check. As you all knew they entered with Man at Arms and this gave them a huge early advantage. As the game continued we were somehow back in the game but in the end Max's Paladins found our trade line and we lost 3:4 to Suomi. After the game I received a lot of online criticism, some could better be called cyber violence which made me suffered. To be honest, I did make mistakes in the game. The situation on Paladin's side in that tournament was even worse, he promised a good ranking to the sponsor but neither teams in the final was a Chinese team. The results were unexpected to everyone and the sponsor was disappointed and sad, after NC3 he stopped sponsoring AoE games in China. Paladin was criticized a lot online and had a difficult time. Some comments went too far and even questioned his initiative in co-organizing this tournament. I definitely shared Paladin's feeling, I mean he has 3 kids to raise and was champions in both 2015 and 2016. Besides that, he made obvious effort in organizing such big event. After NC3, Paladin quits organizing tournament.

When it came to 2018 during Battle of Africa, I re-joined Team SY and teamed first time with Yo and Lyx. When we played against Vietnam, saymyname was tributing his teammates, I didn't take the opportunity to invade his base but instead focusing on other opponents. Paladin was steaming that game and happened to say that I should have tackled saymyname as first priority. We lost that game and the comments put all blames on me this time, few hundred un-followed as a consequence. I felt all pressure was putting on me since Paladin was pointing out that my mistake in strategy in that game, while my teammates Yo and Lyx had proven themselves already in previous tournaments as champions. Before that tournament my monthly stream income was stable around 5k yuan, because of this loss my income dropped more than 50%. Again I concluded this to my insufficient competition level. In July the same year, in a tournament sponsored by Microsoft, I won 3:2 against Liereyy, this somehow improved my income situation and especially thanks to a guy called Pang Brother (Fat Brother) as he generously donated several times in my channel. In the follow-up KOTD2, i met Liereyy again in the semi-final. Pang Bro promised me a big prize before the game if I could proceed in the final. This certainly gave me a lot of pressure, i did have a good chance from recent win-lose ratio against Liereyy. On the other side, I was mentally struggling till the game day with sweaty hands. In the end I lost with 1:4, here came again with flood of sarcastic comments. “you only won Liereyy because of luck in casual games, you don’t stand a chance in big tournaments against him” such comments bothered me day and night. In my Douyu channel, I originally put my tag as Top3 AoE2 worldwide, because Liereyy once said I am the Top3, since only Viper and me stand a chance beat him back then. After that loss I never publicly mentioned myself as Top3 anymore.

Then time flied to June 2019, Yo claimed the title in MSC and I was then the best 16. In order to avoid being put in public as comparison with Yo by some trollers, I gifted Yo immediately in his channel with the hope to escape upcoming sarcastic comments. Back then Yo and myself were often compared in the Chinese AoE community. Obviously because Yo did achieve higher levels in many S-tier tournaments, I felt that I’m often the one being laughed at. I did realize this and was thinking “ok, fine, I have no problem being the nr. 2”. So I continued with my channel and by HC3 in 2020, I was swept by Liereyy. In that tournament Yo lost to Viper but apparently nobody blamed on him, but I was criticized by many. I don’t understand WHY there’s such big difference as we both lost! Most of time I kept practicing my skill but mentally I was not always in a top player level. In 2020 Yo won another title in RBW1 and I was best 32. I knew my channel was close to an end and before this I had the give-up thoughts many times already. However I was still not willing to give up, I want to prove myself. In the next tournaments, KOTD3, RBW3, HC4, RBW4, HC, all of these I stopped at best 16, I started to realize this is perhaps my destiny. But to those trollers, if you think world best 16 is a noob, then I have nothing to comment. All these years I have been tired of troller comments. I’m a person who says whatever in my mind without too much thinking, often combined with dirty words. But listen, this is what I am, i might not speak like a well-educated person, but i know there’re certain lines which we cannot cross.

Well, to those fans, I have to say sorry and thank you from the bottom of my heart for your company through this long journey. I’m a die-hard AoE2 player, but my journey stops here. I feel exhausted, cried many times as you cannot imagine. Tonight is my last fight in KOTD4, i will play it through. After today I will only focus on AoE4, no matter good or bad I will be.
