I am far from being an expert, but isn‘t Taiwan‘s status quo sort of in-between being independent and part of China (grey zone)?

Not supporting Vivi‘s ban at all, but maybe showing the Taiwan flag is not allowed acc to terms and conditions of his streaming platform (again, not supporting that, but rules are rules i guess?

Communist China considers that Taiwan is a part of China and thinks officially that the Republic of China(=Taiwanese government) is illegitimate. De facto Taiwan acts many ways like an independent country, but most countries in the World don't recognize officially Taiwan as independent country.

So because many countries accept chinese blackmail and don't recognize Taiwan for money reasons, normal people should also follow that logic? How about being a decent human being, grow a backbone and start showing and recognizing Taiwan everywhere no matter if winnie the pooh likes it or not.

For Liquipedia there won't be any changes. So unless there is some sort of browser plugin that automatically detects and changes flags, then it's probably better for him/them to not show Liquipedia or AoEZone on stream.
Other things like overlays or in case China A/B face a Taiwanese team, I think that is their responsibility to just be careful if it has an affect on their stream and income.
That's probably the best I can recommend, as there is no enforment on showing any flags on stream.

I don't think vivi would use Google Chrome, but, yes, I can imagine something like that existing for some browsers that are used in China too.

Should work for all chromium based browsers. If he does not use one regulary then even better, could just use it for streaming NC then. But yes, just a proof of concept that there are no adjustements from liquipedia needed.

Don't want to talk politics here. But not only China(People's Republic of China) claims taiwan as part of its territory, taiwan(Republic of China) also claims China as its territory. At least in Taiwan's constitution, but their leaders don't claim that now. In fact, taiwan is an independent district(not a UN member). But both the constitutions of China and Taiwan assert that mainland China and Taiwan belong to a same country(PROC or ROC on each sides).

Such topic isn't talking about politics but actually about history and how taiwan was established and why it got insta support and investors from those countries that wanted to show the world that the communism was the big evil, if you take a book or two about such subject you will find out why you can't call it a country or pretend it to be a free land as it has always been part of china, united states or their allies can't just declare the freedom of certain territory that belongs to another country just because they support it.

Obviously for china government those declarations are hostil and anyone supporting those ideals are doing the same, that is like if you tell the british people that the malvinas are free and they belong to argentina, people should just mind their business instead of pretending high morality or high ignorance in some cases but i guess sadly the world is just full of it.

It has always been like this for douyu and China. MrYo got 1 month ban because of some random person‘s words in lobby; Lyx got some time ban because of someone said some stupid words in vc; Vivi got even more bans, some of them because of watching Twitch pools and bathtubs section.

Best thing they can do is to be as cautious as possible (considering that they can’t change the rule), and in this case they should have been aware of this issue. As for the chrome extension thing, it’s nice that people are helpful, but I think it is in general too complicated for them

Just use a content editor or adblocker to remove the flags, and vivi can stream again. This shouldn't have to affect the rest of the world.

But that is exactly how most countries are born. Finland was first part of Sweden and later part of Russia until finally declared independent and got support from other countries (incl. Russia) and that was it. USA was part of Britain until they fought and got their indepedency. Mexico was part of Spain until Mexican war of independence.

Taiwan situation is different. Do you know the name of the country Taiwan (used on Taiwan)? It's Republic of China. Both countries consider themselves the "real" China. So it's not so much about independence as about who is the real China country.
