OPTIONS
F6 - F8 can be disabled by the Disable extended hotkeys option. The arrow key combinations and numpad +/- can be adjusted from the hotkey editor by the keyboard scroll and game speed hotkeys. Since the Left arrow key is scroll left by default, for example, Ctrl + Left is the slower speed hotkey. If scroll left was changed to the L key, then slower speed would become Ctrl + L, etc.

The mt stat is cpu lag and the mp stat is network lag. Players other than the host will not see the mt or mp stats. The second number of each pair is the player slot number that is currently causing the worst performance for the stat. For mt (cpu lag), the first number should usually be below 10 when the game starts and increase slowly toward maybe 15-20 later on. For mp (net lag), the first number is just their ping. If mt is 20+ at the start of the game, something is almost certainly wrong with that player's system or game options (using 32-bit color or not using it depending on GPU driver support, excessive screen resolution for their system, running animated water on a slower system, etc.).
Note that the player slot number isn't the player color, so please see the order of names on the diplomacy window to find out which player it is, where 1 is the first slot, etc.
